Scrappy Saturday! - Fabric Scrap Projects!

Good morning Gayle & Friends! So fun to hear the joy in your voice. The pockets and clusters were awesome. Just one small problem… for all “we” get done, my ephemera box isn’t growing? 😂😂😂. Normally I craft along, but I was glued to watching on this one. We are preparing for unpredictable weather. Whatever it ends up being here are some true predictions: 1) Twila will be in her craftroom 2) the Cheifs will be in Denver where there is no snow in the forecast 3) Herb will be hoping some NFC team doesn’t make it to the playoffs 4) Jezebel (the Pomeranian) will be sitting at the back door waiting on the snow because she loves playing in it! 😂😂😂 Hope everyone stays safe & warm if you are in the areas this storm is hitting. You just crack me up, you having to take off your shoe to sew on your sewing machine.😂 Had a flash of a idea. Yiu know how yiu take a journal page on glue paper around the edge. Have you done that with fabric glue/ sew the fabric around one side of the page and flip the page and do the other side. Thank you doing those pockets and making me start my day with laughter. These look so pretty all laid out on your mat. I love the idea of putting the paper embellishments on top of the clusters. I don’t know why I never thought of that. I usually put a button or some kind of little trim flower or something. This is so much better.

Hi Gayle. Fun scrappy Saturday. I was "condensing" the other day and voila! I found an old (2022) Medicare benefits book to collage in! It was like holy excitement!!! So now as I go through papers I can gather stuff to put in my collage box that might actually be interesting to use in it. I'm excited 😁. Did you get a new sewing machine? I had a Singer Tradition, which is basically a starter machine, and for Christmas got a Patchwork, which is what I thought you had. Now I see you have a Stylist. I love my new machine!! Your sewing skills amaze me and inspire me to keep working at it. I almost exclusively sew on paper. Fabric and I do not get along very well.

Lovely lot of material and great makes. If you get a chance TracyJDesigns (from NZ) has a video up using scraps and making belly bands etc - she hand stitches the pieces on and sews on lace and trims etc - they are lovely and may help you use up some of your scraps. What a beautiful cover to slip a journal in to😊

It’s me again…I need to comment again. A few days ago I got out my tiny little alphabet stamps and stamped words on some muslin/linen type strips. Then I hand sewed them to little fabric clusters. They turned out so cute!❤ Tammie

Good morning. Loving the fabric clusters! Since you just used partial page ruffles in your current journal got me thinking that some of the clusters are similar in size to the ruffles/lace you use. It depends if the stitches 🪡 are going to stay in then I’m pretty white, but if the stitches are going to come out later, then I would say maybe neon blue 🧵 would be good so that you can really see them to get them out properly. 😜

Hi there gayle!.. loved watching you do the clusters they looked awesome!.. because I did so many journals for xmas I'm now just having some fun working on a strawberry journal just for my own use (strawberrys are something that reminds me of my grandparents) x trying to finish off a concertina type journal I started making once when watching Tina from shabbydabbydodah but I'm going to do some clusters aswell now after being inspired by you today!.. so I'm just having fun making things for future journals x some for my own use in the 2 journals I'm playing with. I needed something to do that i wasn't under so much pressure to do x finish. Especialy at moment as we are in summer x today x yesterday have been 42 degrees x above so while its very overcast its also very hot x muggy here at moment x my daughter x grandkids are in the loungeroom staying near the air conditioner x don't want to go out in the heat but my grandaughter heard your voice from my room so she wants to sit x watch one of your vidios so we are going to watch this one again so she can help make some clusters with me, she really enjoys watching you with me x crafting along.
