Scrapyard Fire, Tyneside

On Thursday 19 May 2011 over 70 firefighters from Tyne and Wear Fire Brigade fought a huge blaze at a former scrapyard in Albion Row, Byker in Newcastle.
The fire-fighters used twelve fire appliances including two
specialist aerial ladder platforms.

Nice video! The fire caused quite a commotion over lunch time in our office, we had quite a good view of the smoke plume and the enormous shadow it cast over Heaton/Jesmond. We were very glad to be upwind of it I can tell you!
