Thanks for the proper pronunciation of Peter Brachaki's name. You'd never have thought it. Mind you, my late mum had a dentist whose name on his surgery plaque was written as 'Ghazimadeh': it was pronounced, as his receptionist told me when I phoned one day to make an appointment for mum, as: 'Jovenvader'. Fine. 🤔 And most importantly - I never tire of watching you make such beautiful objects. Thank you.

Pronouncing names from a language that's not your own can always be a bit testing as it becomes a bit of a guessing game. Even Verity Lambert said his name in a very English reading way... can't blame her, nor Peter for not correcting her. I bet he was fed up doing that and just went along with it. Thanks for watching and I'm glad that you continue to like my output!

@@PBProps - looking at the detail you included on that model, including the little bits added, presumably on the real prop, to stop the door swinging open during filming, is this based on the prop which famously collapsed onto Elisabeth Sladen, during filming of 'The Seeds Of Doom' (I think it was that story - I could be wrong)?
@PBProps
@PBProps 4 жыл бұрын
@@brianartillery Yes, it's that prop. On one of the models, I also included all the cracks in the timber, the screw holes and so forth. It's really fiddly at that scale, but I do like to include all the details as seen on the originals - including the same amount of planks, in the correct order, that you'd use if you were to build it at full scale. Yes, I can be incredibly anal about levels of detail.

There is a crappier prop TARDIS than this one - it appears at the end of 'The Massacre' - it's what Dodo mistakes for a real police box. The prop seems, from the stills, to have one side made from a completely unconvincing painted sheet of canvas. It makes me laugh and cringe every time I see it. Very poor indeed.
@PBProps
@PBProps 4 жыл бұрын
@@brianartillery Yeah, that's the Police Box door frontage from the Pilot Episode console room studio set entrance with a set of mock up walls and a roof. If I recall, that version was even used as reference on one of the very early annual covers.

Yes, it was nice to see his reaction - he seemed very pleased. I suppose that you could screw the blocks together, but generally, you screw them down on to a milling bed to hold work items in place while they're being milled into shape.

Thank you. Yeah, I've sat on this footage for just about two years. I held it back because the channel was / is becoming too TARDIS-centric. As much as I love that prop, I'd like to be able to make more than just that. As for the move, well due to many huge issues along the way, we ended up buying what was our rental. The moulded version is still not finished, even after two years have passed. In the video, you see it being set aside on a shelf and it hasn't changed since then. I need some pricey equipment to make it happen, but until such a time, the project is a long way off. Unfortunately.

Hey, I've gotten to the point with my TARDIS build where I will need to do the door section of the box. Do you have a diagram for the door section of any of your boxes that I could maybe adapt to mine? I'm just trying to think what the best way would be to make my door.
@PBProps
@PBProps 4 жыл бұрын
I don't have any diagrams as all I do is make a notch in the top and bottom of the door's back plate, then add in a brass rod. I cover this in the 8th Doctor TARDIS video - that'll show you what to do. Best of luck with it!

How much for a 1st doctor's tardis?
@PBProps
@PBProps 4 жыл бұрын
Right now, I'm not able to scratch build any more TARDISes at this scale as they're too expensive to make because of the high cost of materials and time, thus they're not financially viable. Having said that, I'm hoping to save up money for some machines that will allow me to cast them up and sell at a competitive price. Fingers crossed!
