This is super cool. The base really makes it come together, and the painful decision to redo the outside was well worth the effort.

Around Halloween there are a lot of places selling chipboard "coffins" (Some places even have plastic ones) that would also make a great starting point to build one of these, a few friends more into the World of Darkness games have been using them as dice boxes for Vampire and similar games.

I've learned about Oubliettes from Labyrinth (1986), it is a dungeon you throw people there to forget about them, there is usually no chance to redeem that person and (if I'm not mistaken) they usually soon die from starvation from not being attended, i.e. Forgotten. ln this case you might be brought to fight and die. I love how WH is so apocalyptical.
@Brickerbrack4 жыл бұрын
They were usually vertical pits, with a special crooked shape that meant you couldn't sit or lie down, or even stand up straight! Not only would you starve to death from neglect, but you'd also be in agony the whole time...

Nice! The lighting effects are especially well done; the green paint really does help sell the glowing effect. As a bit of constructive criticism, it would be nice to have a more open design, maybe with half implied walls (in typical 2.5D fashion), or more windows like on the ceiling; the flat walls can make it seem kinda cramped compared to the Space Marine pad, though in a way that's also kinda fitting for an oubliette.

Awesome build as usual 👍🏼 What I’m struggling with is that an oubliette is usually a hole in a dungeon into which an unfortunate prisoner is thrown and then FORGOTTEN about - very deliberately. From the French ‘Oublier’ - To forget. But then, heh, does it really matter? Still a freakn awesome piece of building!

Something similar to Miniature Scenery’s Elven Dias could work. Combine the “floating” of Wyloch’s oubliette with the “open floor plan” of his teleportation chamber. Add some space elf organic curved arches and maybe figure out how to get the blinky LED lights inside the gem stones...? miniaturescenery.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=66

Very cool! Didn't expect to see another Ambush-like terrain piece after the Teleportarium Chamber. This one looks really impressive and complex when you first see it, but is fairly manageable once you see the steps that go into it. Also, I can't believe I forgot about the toothbrush-flicking-for-stars technique, that will be indispensable if I ever get around to making a play area for Orion's Gate. On the theme of ambush-assistance, I wonder if the power of chipboard and hot glue could be used to make a Drop Pod that can both have units put in it and still be used on the battlefield. I find Drop Pods interesting concepts, but with their size they seem excessive.

Hey I have a cool idea, what if you did a tunnel or "lurking" underground sort of area for tyranids, a set up for genestealers, or trygons, and for trygons they have a rule about all trygons in the same tunnel exit at the same time, so maybe that could be worked into it. Or possibly a low orbit sort of set up for flying units with deep strike.
