Scratch built stick and tissue 20" scale model of the Eipper Quicksilver Ultralight

After a few prototypes came up with a model that flies pretty well. Power is 8520 brushless motor on 1s lipo, 2 channel. Flying weight is about 35g. I don't have detailed plans, but the outlines can be downloaded from RC groups, www.rcgroups.c...

When I pull the power back I notice it wants to nose up and stall. I heard the real one does the same thing due to the high thrust line. Do you recall that issue with the full scale?

Boy! That took me back.... wayyy back... that was my (full size) Quicksilver MX in almost the exact same color scheme.... that color scheme in 1981-82 actually went (from the root outward) blue, red, orange, yellow, light green, dark green. But you're very close! ..and maybe Eipper offered custom panel color arrangements for extra $. But jeeez... 43 years ago! seriously? Really nice job!

Interesting… ya saw a picture of the one you described while I was browsing google images…. Saw a couple variations. I think the colors I used came from an early weight shift model.

@@dlasich That could be.. I learned in the weight shift.... 15 HP Yamaha motor... while I was building my MX kit... 2 cylinder Cuyuna motor.. before Rotax... there were no 2 seaters at that time so you just did a lot of ground effect up and down the runway until you had the balls to go higher and do a pattern. Scary as @!#.. they did do ground school for 1 day though.. so what could go wrong?
