Good to see this Airfix kit had the windows together in a block instead of this old 1960s Hudson bomber kit I am building. It has separate windows and they are a pain!

Always enjoy your videos mate. If you were posting 3x a day I would be hanging off every word because I always enjoy the details you create in the kits. I also seem to always be drawn into the video as if I was sitting right beside you. Keep it up. I can't wait to see the next steps Mr Houdini.

Coming along just nicely! It's nice when they do release a classic kit, but, a few upgrades here and there wouldn't have gone amiss. It'd look horrible without an interior. I always love how ingenious you are though. Amazing to see someone sketch something with a pencil and paper too!

I assembled this one a couple of years ago. I did NOT try to install (create) interior seats. Too tiny! I saw another TouTuber replace the kit windows with sheet styrene, in the interest of clarity. You're doing a super job. It's a great kit.

Harry, when the HP42 was in service it would have been stewards only I think. I believe that Imperial Airways/BOAC didn't employ Sheilas until after the war. I can imagine it would be a mammoth undertaking to fit separate acetate windows, but the interior would be more visible.
@HarryHoudiniModels7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the info update Finlay… so I need skinny stewards with tall narrow cocktail glasses?

This would have made an epic kit in 1/72. Big up on the scratch built interior, IRC that the Hannibal only had 24 seats. I love your no nonsense Aussie humour keep it going.
@HarryHoudiniModels7 ай бұрын
The Hannibal H.P.42 was the first prototype intended for long range, so had less seats to conserve fuel, than the later short range H.P.45 Heracles which accommodated more passengers.

Leaving the windows out is probably a good idea as that is what special effects did for the X wing fighters on the original Star Wars movies. Apparently there were too many reflections from the glass when filming so they just left it out and as they say the rest is history.

I may see if I can prize them out John… but it was worth putting them in just for others to see how much, or little, is viewable through the thick plastic.
