The freestyle mechanic basically works like this you can’t just smash random buttons you have to use the buttons that are already used in the verse to freestyle for example if the inputs A B makes out the words “like” and “me” you can do A A B to Make “like like me” (if you press a button not included in the verse it will be considered a miss input for example if a verse includes the button presses A A B if you press the Y button it will be a miss) remember if one button doesn’t have the same word through the entire verse for example The first A press will make the word “yes” but the second A input Will make” please” if this happens then every time you press a it will be a pattern so the first time you press it it will be “yes” the second time you press it Will be “please” end it repeats through the entire verse until a different set of words is chosen in the next verse. Honestly really love the mods because a lot of people put so much work into them and the ones that might necessarily not have as much it's still nice to think that people go out of their way to mod games so to think people might be annoyed by them is a little weird, if they don't like the mods then don't play them but I obviously don't know the entire story about the controversy, don't even know if I want to but nevertheless I love the mods and hope Scratchin Melody gets more, it's really good game even if we just have the demo and it deserves all the love it gets and more.

Bijuu. To free style you have have to hit all the notes your supposed to WHILE ADDING YOUR OWN!!!! For example if you have to hit A, right, B, left. To freestyle you’d hit *A* A *right* B *B* left *left* A so you hit all the notes AND add your own. I hope this helped you Bijuu! :)

You have to keep the notes to the ones used in the bar when freestyling: for example if the original bar goes ⬆ ⬇ ⬅⬅⬆ , you can go ⬆⬇⬇⬆⬅⬅⬆ , but don't you dare include a ➡. The game has three scoring categories: Accuracy, which is based on how well you played the original, and is a low-scoring category; Funk, which judges the complexity of what you played; and Style, which is not shown on one of the meters on the left but nevertheless estimates how good it sounds and will affect your final score. Mistakes and playing off beat will incur penalties, while nailing it to the beat exactly (the text "Perfect" will appear over a note as you play it if you do so) will give the most score possible.

If you manage to go into 3D mode, throw what i said about sticking to the original bar out the window, as there's no bar to repeat, feel free to use all 10 inputs throughout your freestyling and spit some fire. Too many notes in one double bar there will quickly lose you points though (the meter on the left drops rapidly once you pass that threshold), but you won't be able to incur a 300 point penalty like you could in PtR2.

I think a good way to know when to freestyle is if the other character is singing or not. If they sang along for a while especially, and there’s a long pause in their singing, it means it’s your turn. It’s kind of intuition based I guess.

the funk meter at the top left has 2 points, the first one has a note under it, the second one has you under it, the first one is when to freestyle and the second one (the second one is for your points, but it's also for your score) has mostly no use unless your trying to get a better score instead of trying to get a better grade, the more funk-juicy (the name given to it for some reason), the more full it is the more you SHOULD freestyle
