hey bijuu, after you finish the game you can replay it as parappa, it has new songs and the already existing ones become hiphop instead of rock also, you can press the dpad or select button to change the pitch of the guitar

FYI: Losing is not based on your score, it's based on your ranking (bad and awful). If you complete the song with a good or cool rank, you win! Also, at least to me, the game is easier when repeating the button prompts and THEN adding more if you have space. Otherwise your fate kind of rests in the game's opinion more.

You have to stay on beat, even when in cool mode. If you button mash it tells you you’re bad and sends you back. One odd thing is in Parappa 1 you can’t actually get COOL mode on the first playthrough. You can only get it after beating the story. In the rest of the games you can get COOL during the story.

Ayyyy, Bijuu's playing Um Jammer Lammy, I'm really glad because it would have been a big mis opportunity if you skipped past it. I'm glad you are enjoying it! also yes, the timing in both Parappa 1, and UJL are very strange, even if you press the buttons on time they still somehow count as bad sometimes so it's really frustrating. Also, there IS a very good reward after completing the game, I don't want to spoil it unless you've seen it somewhere else, but you should check for it! (UJL is also after Parappa the Rapper 1, but its not the sequel because the main character isn't Parappa, therefore its a spin-off.) Also, the sound optimizers you collect each stage can be enabled to change the sound of your guitar with the select button! it's not of importance to use but it's a cool and unique feature! and I believe pressing up and down on the D-Pad switches the pitch of your guitar (which won't be important as well, just cool features they added!)

If it helps, the PS4 parappa port had synching problems which made timing far more difficult than it had to be. Um Jammer Lammy on the other hand has far better time than both versions of Parappa 1. It is a little on the strict side, but once you get use to the timing, it becomes smoother to play and more fun. Parappa 2 is in the same range on timing as Um Jammer Lammy. As for a tip, try getting close to the button prompts, each stage has a style they prefer for free styling which is based on your different teachers song styles. As for freestyling tips, keep a good rhythm and/or keep to the tempo if you aren't rapid fire. Getting a cool will get harder on later stages so "sticking to the script isn't a bad thing to do at that point". Finally, for parappa, he's post game, he remixes the songs to be rap themed and there's an interesting third version of the song if you do the parappa version of co-op. That's all the help I can give. Also, one other thing, why did you purposely ignore some bars? Blue bars are your turn.
