brady101194 Then learn dammit!! This is the 21st century! You can start by using an app on your phone (like cross dj, edjing, or Djay) Try virtual dj 8 for your mac/pc This is why thee internet is awesome, in a few hours with some wifi, you can learn anything.

+QBankler Music Ugh, noooo. Bad advice. You should be promoting turntables or CDJs and learning to play them like an instrument. Having fun with them. 'learning' to DJ using a phone app will not help you in the real world and certainly doesnt look 'cool'. What looks cool is the turntables, what sounds cool is the way you create music using both tracks at the same time. People see that and react in the way the OP did. People wont turn heads if it just looks like your playing music thru your phone or PC.

Eredn_DnB I'm not saying that is the best option to become a DJ, I'm saying that in this day and age, if you want to learn to basics you don't have to start with vinyl like you used to. Now you can learn the basics and see if you like it by purchasing a DJ controller, or an app on your phone. I agree that cdjs and turntables are usually the best options, but If you want to see if DJ'ing is or you, start small.
