DUDE - You can not be thanked enough. I have been DJing about 11 years now and the last eight due to theft, I have only used CD. Now with turntables again - you are teaching me how to make a vinyl comeback.

Thanks for the video i found it very helpful, i see alot of people complaining about ur style of teaching, all i can say to those people is "where are ur videos then", people also complaining about how basic the stuff is ur teaching well thats the idea as you said its for beginners! Thanks for the vid.
@bartz816 жыл бұрын
yeah! its like a famous book entitled: dj lesson for dummies. this is by far the coolest video ive seen here about dj-ing. i can say this because im a dj too. knowledge and skills are obtained little by little. just like you've said... practice! beginners can learn a lot from you.

todjdrocer, I have always said i'm not the best in the world(far from it) , but i am teaching people the basics here! thanks j

At the moment i am just using the x fade, yes , but i will introduce the x fade soon. thanks
@ellaskins16 жыл бұрын
you can get lp's known as breaks, these will have samples on them, great to scratch with. j

OOps, I ment to say at the mo i am just using the volume slider ! and will use the X fade soon!

No you can use any record to scratch with but there are scratch records with various sounds that you can use for scratching. He is using the "ahhh" sound to scratch with-this is usually found on scratch records
@wowerman15 жыл бұрын
i was doing some practice yesterday,i know some basics but funny thing is to sync crossfader and platter or vinyl moves:) thanks

Great job bro. You really do help you should open a practical class on these lessons .

The classic record that myself and DJs like Bad Boy Bill who Ive opened for is by DJ RECTANGLE. The vinyl is solid white so it really stands out. Ask your local record shop about Rectangle or my buddies Faust and Shortee. They also put out a sample record.

That depens on if you are a beginner, what money you can spend and if you want to use vinyl, cd or mp3.

Thank you for helping me out with this great video! I have a question: The second move in this video when you lift your hand, is it the same move that you did in the first lesson??
@SLIMKUTT14 жыл бұрын
I think if you would use the CF with a sharp curve, and do a little more practice... ...you would be a great turntablist !^^ I like your vids, because they always put a smile on my face !^^
@R1CND15 жыл бұрын
its hard to explain with text, but heres how i would explain basics: use just one record with a sample that you like, try to get just a flat noise or similar (noramally at the very beginning or end of some records) use the crossfader to 'cut' in and out. when you pull the record back, move the crossfader to the 'off' position, then move the record forward and move the crossafader at the same time to 'on' so you hear it. now put another record on, and do what you was doing in beat
@DownBeat9013 жыл бұрын
this guy helps alot but the real lesson people is to just do it yourself and learn yourself there no better practice than practical big up this guy though

Go Technics 1200's. There the best but once you get good, your gonna wish you had em. You can buy a knock off mixer like a behringer which has all the essentials and works fine. To keep up with mp3's I just bought serato and it is the sickest set up ever. Mixing mp3's on vinyl, cant beat it.
@ladybrock16 жыл бұрын
never fail to impress will be practising this, is it best to start with a slower genre as i generally play hardcore lol, or i could just slow it down i guess
@SphereMaster00114 жыл бұрын
@TDKOnafets for a beginners set you wanna go much cheaper than that, you can get an adequate set for 1000 used, possibly less, and then once you make your fist deal you should sell and get the good stuff

@FruityLoopsNessify that is what i think. I don´t scratch and i mix house .. sure i would probably find it interesting to learn more ... but after 25 years djing ... i didn´t ever needed to keep a crwod dancing to my mixes

it's better to use the upfaders when doing fade type of scratches for regular cutting you need to use the crossfader
@koralin12315 жыл бұрын
In the first one, he said not to slow the platter (the plate beneath the record) down. In this one, you're holding the record in place, so you'e stopping only the record. The platter's still spinning the entire time.
@R1CND15 жыл бұрын
just move both hands at the same time, when you move crossfader 'on', move record forward, then move record back and move crossfader back to 'off' at the same time. when you master this, you can change how you cut the crossfader in and out, try cutting it in and out to the beat, and then get faster and slower. when you can do this you will be pro ^^

@SuperAZE15 In this video, he just pressed the start/stop button on the turntable. But something to press a button and make a sound.. It is called a sampler, some mixers have samplers built in. But when you "press a button" to make a sound, you do that with a sampler, no matter what type of sampler. He did not do that at all in this video. There is nothing on a vinyl turntable that will make a sound when you press a button.

So i have a question so the first one is quick the second scratch is the speed of the turntable and the third is slowing it down but my question is why is it that the 2nd scrath (the sound of the tables speed) still sounds like a scratch and now the voice or music being used?
