They actually use the same engine. It's using a customized Unreal 4 engine that's specifically modified by Bandai to specialize in Anime style rendering.

To be fair genshin is not a mmorpg in any way, the only thing is the anime style, but other than that I don’t think that genshin and blue protocol should be paired at the same level because they are two separate genre of games… genshin is purely made for exploration and not about farming mobs, and it’s made like this on purpose, instead blue protocol should be the opposite since it’s a mmorpg

Genshin isnt an MMORPG, not even close. It gives off an illusion of it but its a gacha game and you play it like a gacha game, its just in an open world setting. There are lot of games on mobile that are more of an MMORPG than Genshin will ever be.

Like some have mentioned, the mount hind legs look too stiff while running. Also I thought the character legs looked a little stiff as well while running. Specifically the forward and back animation loop. Feels like it needs a few more frames in it to lengthen the stride. Other than that it exceeds all expectations. Combat looks incredibly fun. Cant wait!

ill be honest, I'm really surprised there aren't more mmo's with this art style. The vibrant colors, and stunning effects really go great with the genre. and with anime as popular as it is now days compared to 10-15 years ago, would drive a massive fanbase. @@wiegraffolles9822 i guess tower of fantasy is close, but its too gacha based for my taste, as for genshin, its not really mmo, i want to be able to run into towns with hundreds of other players, or see people killing shit for quests or skilling etc, i like games where players bring life to everything, doesnt have to be traditional, but as far as the gacha stuff goes its not really a good style for mmo's i think there should typically be either a class system or a fully open system kind of like how new world does it with the weapon proficiencies and stuff, but keeping the open world vibe of like runescape or something. idk i got ideas for games but no money or talent to put the ideas into something real and tangible lol

The sound effects are amazing and the world looks very polished. Also it seems that depending on the skin you got equipped your swings change color? Like the dual axes that look purple 0:42 then red, or the archer that shoots ice then lightning.

archer has an innate passive where they can do a charged attack in the middle of a normal chain for different elements, like 2 normals and then charged might be fire while 3 normals and a charged could be ice, for the dual axes I think thats determined by the type of axe you equip.

From what I understand, the character customization will have more stuff to it (probably paid) that will have the likes of cat ears, horns, etc. So playable race is what you make it out to be, through customization, not by a selection of race.

Mage class' ult being a meteor is an instant pick for me. Also when you think about it, most MMOs don't have much verticality in their maps. There weren't a lot of times where I'd look up and see someone chilling up the top of a cliff or something. Maybe GW2 and B&S. God I hope they add flying to this game as well.

@@allthatishere Good point. I haven't played MMOs much lately because of my play time being limited. I can't grind the way I did 15 years ago. I play looter shooters nowadays. The closest thing I played to BP is Genshin Impact. Yes, It's different, It's a gacha game unlike Blue Protocol which is a true mmrpg imo. With that said, I just can't wait to play BP to feel the old MMORPG experience.

This is not full footage it seems some footage is similar to Amazon trailer but with more stuff , the enemies don’t just stand there I remember in beta 2 years ago if a monster mage was being attacked , a monster warrior would put itself in front of the monster mage to protect it , lets hope they improved on that , this is most likely leaked footage since it have no music

From my experience with the last CBT they're much more aggressive and quick, they can easily overwhelm you if you're not careful. It's likely tweaked client for showcase purposes only.

@@maxfbraun I mean the novice class, before you become any base class like swordsman or archer, don't get me wrong I love RO like ROM(except it's P2W aspects) but it's gets repetitive seeing the same view the same storyline and it's awkward you have strong basic attacks just before you become like a priest or archer

@@MangaGamified well, I don't mean the mobile versions of RO, I deslike them quite a bunch 😛 I mean the original one, where you need to set your attributes already in the tutorial and so on. Nonetheless, the relative strenght of the Novice class in RO is so low, its fine to turn into a mage, archer etc. You can always skip the tutorial as well on the original oldschool RO.

@@maxfbraun I hear old RO has limitation like 8-bit integer or something, damage numbers not exceeding 2 billion or less? dont get me wrong old RO was childhood but its a bit too outdated now, all the tools and devs had probably long retired already, it's probably nostalgia for a week or so, then you'll notice the problems. ROM is actually very very close to the old RO

Graphics look really good and the animations look polished as well. The only concern I have is the combat depth. From what is shown in the video, each class only has a few buttons to press and the rest is just auto-attacks. If the combat is boring and monotonous, players will play for 2 weeks, get bored of the pretty graphics and gameplay, and quit. I hope the devs will continue to polish the combat aspect of Blue Protocol, so it can be an MMO that can compete with existing giants in the same genre.

Animations are horrid, just look at guy at the right 4:22 he runs like a friggin goblin lmao, like wtf is this? running animation is so bad it's like straight out ripped from 2010 and combat looks with little weight, enemies disappear in the air like garbage, movement looks so cheap overall, people will hype this thing up for the first 2 months then drop it.
