I can recognize your style from what I see, so I guess that your theory holds water. I like the idea of art resembling yourself, it makes it more personal and interesting, I think. And, I’d love to see some realism artwork. That’s really cool.

I've been seeing that a lot of artists styles reflect how they look in some way too. Ps your art is super cute

Both of the characters are super cute, especially the way you draw clothes is so cool!

this was fun to watch! I agree that people's art is quite inevitably based around personal experience to some extent, I think it's why I accidentally draw people with a wider set body type most of the time too ^ ^ I also see a lot of inspiration in your art from the general decor style here, I remember when I first saw some of your art it reminded me of those wooden figures of monkeys and birds etc they sell in most home shops here.

I totally agree on your theory! When that “challenge” or prompt came out where the artists surrounded their picture with their art pieces it became apparent to me. Great job on the self portrait!

I love that you drew yourself at the end. I enjoy watching my favorite youTubers experiment in different styles, even if it’s not their best work it feels like I get to go on a journey with them to learn and grow as an artist ❤️

I like that last one- I totally get the character looking like yourself. I tend to draw characters with more roundness line and shape wise? Sometimes almost looking like my persona.

Prompts are inspiration, not dogma. I liked the self portrait!

That self portrait reminds me of the Draw Us as Friends challenge you did two years ago... Only this time way more realistic! 💖 Looks awesome!

Yeah, I noticed that too, that the art resembles the artist. But I think that another thing that matters in this case is if the artist is content with the way they look. Because if they don't, they will probably draw idealized versions of themselves.

completely anecdotal but all the people I've met who draw people who look like them have been girls, the guy artists I've known don't seem to do this. Maybe it has something to do with girls doing makeup and looking in the mirror more, or maybe this is just a weird set of coincidences

Hum.. I disagree about the theory. people tend to draw what they want to draw and sure, sometime the character could looks like them if you really search for it but more often than not I feel like it is just the viewer that want to see that resemblance because people like pattern. They like finding meaning in stuff. But the truth is an 100 people could find another 100 people that look like the drawing ish.
