Having discovered your channel with "The Towering Inferno" & after watching a few videos, Ive gone right back to beginning & working my way through the old video's. What is great fun to watch is your reactions or your thoughts about a film Ive seen & I know whats going to happen & you haven't got a clue. Im constantly thinking, "If you think that was bad, then its going to get a heck alot worse". Also with some react channels then you just cant listen because the people get on your wick. Thankfully that isnt the case with you & a genuine reaction & thought process. Alot of these films I saw back in the 80's (Top Gun) & Jaws so good fun to watch someone watching & reacting to them without knowing what is round the next corner for them.

The movie does a good job keeping you guessing. Billy was everyone's guess until he's cleared. The principal was low key suspicious with his violent judgment with students until killed. Even Dewey was suspicious because of the boots and his annoyance with his sister and how he's usually ignored. The double killer angle threw everyone off

Every time my friends and I watch the opening scene, we argue about the correct answer to the Friday The 13th question. Half of us maintain that the answer is Jason Voorhees because The Voice didn't state it was for the first movie versus the series. And, like Halloween, Myers is The Killer in the series. The other half are convinced that the answer is Mrs. Pamela Voorhees as The Killer in the first FT13 because he Never says series. He only says the name of the movie, the first of which was Friday the 13th; not FT13 Part whatever or series. Plus, the point was always to mislead the victim into giving the wrong answer. And around and around we go. haha
@jackmars9312 жыл бұрын
This is one of those movies that you miss a lot of the fun with if you haven't seen a lot of slasher movies. It completely spoils Friday the 13th, somewhat spoils Halloween, has a cameo from Linda Blair and a major Easter egg from Nightmare on Elm Street, as well as callbacks to other movies. Another film like this is Cabin in the Woods, which just works better if you've seen The Evil Dead, The Ring, Hellraiser, and Alien and a few other 80s teen horror films so you understand the genre tropes and that's just to get the most in-your-face references and Easter eggs/Cameos.

Good reaction, Madison. But it looks like you didn't realize that the girl who was killed in the very first scene was Drew Barrymore. What set 'Scream' apart from other Horror movies at the time, was it it featured a Hollywood A-list actress who was immediately killed off in the very first scene...LOL. No one expected that an actress of Drew Barrymore's stature would be immediately killed off. That was one of the movie surprises.

While I love seeing the "younger generation" react to this every time I see "first death" scene I always remember this was a twist for the time. Drew Barrymore was a big name and was in several, perhaps all, the trailers for the movie so audiences expected her to be a main character... and nope. Fun fact: the cat flap scene... she actually fit through the door so much... they had to "staple" her shirt to the frame to keep her from slipping through. Billy was everyone's number 1 suspect. Until the time when he could no longer logically be. That's when Billy showed up at the window, when the killer even was gone from Sidney's door. It was clear to everyone that it couldn't be Billy. However, he was still portrayed so suspiciously that one believes that there must be errors in the logic in the movie. That's what the movie wanted. Constantly guessing and rejecting to the point of complete despair. Scream plays with all clichés and on a meta level. If you watch the movie again in the knowledge that there are 2 killers does everything really make sense. Even the intro works like this. Questions are asked that the victim cannot possibly answer correctly. If the victim had answered Jason's mother when asked who the killer was in Friday the 13th, they would have said it was Jason. Answer wrong and she is dead. The next question was behind which door the killer was. Whether back door or front door, there were two of them. One behind every door. Furthermore, one was on the phone and the other killed at the same time. Something similar was done shortly afterwards with Sydney. In addition to all the obvious clues, the movie has also given less obvious ones that repeatedly point to both perpetrators. For example, how the two look at each other when Billy comes to the party. Or generally how both behaved when they were together. You noticed a hint directly, but you didn't question it any further. Stu goes to get beer, but doesn't come back for a long time, even though he has to see his dead girlfriend in the garage. At that time, the movie was a milestone in the horror genre.

I love this movie and here are a few fun facts...When casting courtney they didn't want to give her the part cause they thought she wasn't able to play a bitch as it were but she proved them wrong haha, the kiss between David and Courtney when they fell on each other was a real kiss the characters in he script never did so the just got off each other but they left it cause it seemed to fit...they were married when doing the second one I do believe,the janitor is of course homage to nightmare on elm street but the janitor was Wes Craven himself making a cameo, the part where Tatum got stuck in the door was done by them nailing a part of her shirt to the door because in reality they made it too big and the actress could easily get through,Neve and the actor of Billy actually acted together in another movie in the same year as scram called the Craft and if you have not seen it I highly recommend that you do and lastly Drew Barrimore wanted to be the one that gets killed in the beginning cause she wanted to have some fun and it shocked them all cause naturally they all thought she would want the part of Sydney when she read the script.

This slasher film is so well written. I also think that it would be real crazy cool if it was Sydney's Dad as the killer that would make sense as a plot twist. An unhinged father goes mad. They should make one. The soundtrack i own it on CD and it awesome. My generation in the 90s the kids and teens seem cold but it was our way of just boldly playing with death and fearless behavior, livin life on the edge. I supposed we had it ruff. Like a motto. every generation has it problems an way of coping with things as rebellious teen lifestyle. Dont try to make sense of it just let it be. And the actor Skeet Ulrich who plays billy, he always dies in every movie i seen him in. I thought it was like an omen that one of these days he's going to die for real. It's like why does he always end up with those roles him dying?. Pshh Actors...so dramatic 🤦🙄 btw Great reaction😊 lol
