@@Siegeclan34 Agreed. I've watched all the classics (Friday the 13th's cinematography alone still creeps me out), but this was brilliantly done by Wes Craven. It really put the audience in the victim's shoes in a way that is rarely ever done and done to this level of intensity. Her feeling of being totally isolated, plus the seemingly endless amounts of doors and windows for the killer to get her just adds to the suspense

When Randy (Jamie Kennedy) was watching Halloween by himself and telling Jamie Lee Curtis to turn around that he's behind you. Wes wanted to play on that with their real names. It was him telling himself that he Jamie needed to turn around, lol. The way Wes Craven creates those little things is amazing and brilliant! - The whole last 20-30 mins everything that was happening around the house it was perfectly mirroring with what was happening in Halloween, lol. The bedroom scene with Billy/Sidney, Randy couch scene when Sidney yells out while outside happened at the same time as Laurie on Halloween was screaming so Randy didn't hear it but Ghostface did which ended up saving Randys life, Dewey searching through the house with the movie playing in the background, and then the closet scene that Sidney was hiding in waiting to attack Billy with the umbrella at the same time as Laurie was also hiding in a closet from Michael Myers 😂.

Fun reaction to one of my faves. "They finished" followed by that look made me lol. I was never allowed to watch horror movies growing up and one day I went to the neighbor's and they were watching Scream. I was a huge movie fan anyways, but to have the killers also be movie buffs discussing the forbidden horror movies, truly etched its' way in my life. Keep going, guys.

Fun thing to notice , when billy was dressed as the killer he was more precise but when stu was dressed as the killer , he was incredibly clumsy and looked more uncoordinated . When you rewatch the film you actually start to notice the differences

Fun little trivia. During the scene where Sydney jabs the umbrella into Billy chest Neve Campbell missed the padded part under Skeets shirt and actually hit his chest. So his scream of pain is real

Three things that I love about this franchise: 1. Ghostface is an actual human person who's killing people. It's not like Freddy Krueger, Jason, or Michael Myers. Scream is something that can actually happen in real life, and that's what makes it relatable and frightening. That's actually how Kevin created "Scream" by basing the plot loosely on the 1990 case of the Gainesville Ripper. Making Ghostface somewhat clumsy also made it a realistic human. (Also, the robe is very easy to trip over.) I love the mystery of who done it. 2. The self-awareness and rules about horror movies and how Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson plays on it. 3. Typically, in horror movies, it's always the killer that continues on the franchise with a whole new cast to kill off. But in Scream, it's the opposite it's the "final girl" who carries on the franchise who's fighting against different killers wh are portrayedg as Ghostface. - it's interesting with Ghostface how he seems intimidating and unkillable when hiding behind the mask. But once it comes off for the revealing, it's like he or she becomes vulnerable and then ends up getting killed. It's kind of like how people hide behind computer and phone screens they come off as aggressive and intimidating, always picking a fight. But then, when it comes to dealing one on one in person exposed they become complete opposite and are actually weak.

As a long-time Scream-obsessed fan, it is so refreshing watching you guys experience this for the 1st time. You need to watch the rest of the franchise. There are 5 movies and the 6th just finished shooting and will be in theaters in March of 2023.

Awesome reaction! The crazy thing in my own experience watching Scream is that it came out when I was just 10, and for some reason our parents were okay with renting it and letting us watch this stuff; more oblivious times for sure, haha. I had a much better appreciation for it when I watched it as an older teen/early 20's, but by then they had been spoofing this with a bunch of Scary Movies, so people didnt seem to take this as seriously anymore, but as a little kid, and even as a teen, it definitely had some great suspense and a fresh spin on the genre for its time. Looking forward to your reaction of the next one, really interesting as well 👍

Poor Samantha was going through ALL the phases of emotion in that opening! LOL The look on her face when Drew gave the wrong killer for Friday The 13th - 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Same girl, same. Welcome to the club! I also LOVE how many people pick up on that foreboding music queue when Sidney opens the closet door in the beginning. The portent of something to come. Good stuff.

I hadn't seen this before, I just recently found your channel and I'm still going through the back catalog. Really nice reaction. I would just point out that the killers were just teenagers using what they learned from horror movies. Them being clumsy and not exactly precise in their murders is expected. I hope you're doing at least some of the sequels this October. People talk smack about them, but 2, 3 and 4 aren't bad at all. 3 is very campy, but I still like it. The latest one was disappointing to me. It was the only movie of the franchise that I immediately guessed who the killer(s) is(are) and didn't doubt anyone else not even for a second. So a lot of the enjoyment was lost. Still, I hope you get to it as well.

After the grindhouse and snuff like films of the 1970's (Texas Chainsaw, Last House on the left and others) and then the slasher 80's (Halloween Friday 13th etc so many clones) This RESET the slasher horror bar of the 1990's with a nod to horror tropes and written with the "final girl" played by beautiful and amazing Neve Campbell really gave horror a HUGE boost once again. Was fun to see you all react

Ok so, the janitor in the Freddy outfit was Wes Craven, director of Scream and the first Nightmare on Elm St which makes Drew Barrymore's comment about the first movie being great but rest sucked even funnier. This jump-started Henry Winkler's career. He'd retired to take care of his family then came back with this show. The reporter who asks 'how does it feel to almost be butchered' is Linda Blair, the kid from The Exorcist

A little backstory of how Scream got created. Kevin Williamson wrote the story, originally titled "Scary Movie," and based the plot loosely on the 1990 case of the Gainesville Ripper. It was a string of murders in a small town... Then it was changed to "Scream" cause the Ghostface costume was a close resemble to the 1893 Scream painting. The Ghostface costume was originally going to be all white, but Wes Craven said it was too much like the KKK so he did the black robe with a white face. Kevin wanted to create a story that has horror but also with some comedy of making it a self-awareness within the horror universe. But also use a relatable story that truly happened as a baseline. So many Directors wanted to be a part of it. There was even a big bidding war. He chose Wes Craven cause he was the only one who truly understood the story and his vision. Kevin wrote 1, 2, and 4. He originally wrote for Scream 3 but they were forced to scrap that storyline just before they started filming due to the Columbine shooting massacre and because he was already back to writing for other stuff he was involved in so they had to bring in a different writer. He was an executive producer in "Scream 2, Scream 2022, and "Scream 6". Also helped as a regular producer in "Scream 3 and 4". Now he's going to be the new director for the upcoming of "Scream 7". The 2 directors that directed "Ready or Not" were the ones that directed "Scream 2022" and "Scream 6". Wes Craven directed all of the Scream movies except for the "Scream 2022" and "Scream 6". He died after making the 4th. The title of "Scary Movie" ended up being used for the parody movies. The 1st Scary Movie was about Scream, Scream 2, I know what you did last summer, the Blair witch project, Urban Legend, the sixth sense, The usual suspects, the Matrix, a very brief Dawson's Creek (which Kevin Williamson also wrote for).
