What’s the Scream 2 movie about?
Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and tabloid reporter Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) survived the events of the first "Scream", but their nightmare isn't over yet.
Two years after the events of the first movie, Sidney Prescott, who is now a college student at Windsor College, thought she'd finally put the shocking murders that shattered her life behind her. But when two college students are murdered at a sneak preview of "Stab" - a movie based on the events from the first film, it's clear a copycat killer is on the loose. Sidney and Gale, as well as fellow survivors Deputy Sheriff Dewey Riley (David Arquette) and student Randy Meeks (Jamie Kennedy), have to find out who is behind this new murder spree before they all end up dead...

Mrs. Loomis might be the most underrated _Scream_ killer in the franchise. As a younger man in high school I found her anticlimactic and, yes, I even thought that Laurie Metcalf ‘over-egged the pudding’ in terms of _Acting!_ Upon re-viewing, I think Mrs. Loomis is actually very well crafted and Metcalf did an extraordinary job in portraying her.

You know, Sidney's mother is really to blame for everything in the first 3 movies. Because of her time in Hollywood, it set off this psycho chain reaction. She abandoned/disowned her son, Roman. Then she slept with Billy's father causing Mrs. Loomis to leave and Billy and Stu killing her and then attempt to kill Sidney for her mother's sins. Mrs. Loomis comes back to try and avenge her son and fails. I think they should do a Scream back story on Maureen.

Roman was the result of a rape. Maureen was raped. She didn't want to get pregnant. She was violated and traumatized because of it. Even Roman said it: "they fckd her three ways through Sunday*. Even if abandoning a child isn't moral, we understand why she did it. Roman was a reminder of a horrible time in her life, a time she was not to blame. That baby was a constant reminder of the violence she suffered. The only thing she is to blame is for getting involved with a married man, even tho she is 50% there because Hank Loomis was in the wrong as well. If you are talking blame for the domino effect that caused the killings, it was all John Milton's fault.

I will admit I was a very cynical 13 year old watching this movie with just a general lack of humility which takes away from being scared, but I loved Ms. Loomis. In revisiting this film it's so great how she's so lowkey and can actually be spotted at many of the attacks, but because Derek and Cotton are so played up to be the murderers she completely slips your mind(thank god for the rewrite). I mean with the screentime she got it could have been the camera guy for all we knew.
