Scream 3 was censored heavily down and written following the events of Columbine so that’s why there’s such an emphasis on violence in media. They decided to focus on the more campy, comedy aspect of the franchise which is why it feels disconnected from the rest. Though personally I think it’s still a highly enjoyable film that I would rank higher than some of the other films. Glad you guys liked scream 4 more and can’t wait to see the next reaction!

The problem with Scream 3 is that it came out at the wrong time. The original script was suppose to have Stu come back and train some high schoolers to be killers. The movie was filmed right after Columbine.

Scream 4 was a step up from 3. Has its problems but still a good solid scream movie. Scream 5 is literally my second or 3rd favorite movie out of the franchise. Can't wait for scream 6 in march of 2023.

I could definitely be wrong, but I believe it has all been a marketing ploy so that 6 will blow up even bigger when word spreads that she's in it. I think she may even just turn up in the last moment of the film, which will then lead us into 7, where she'll be the main star again. 5 was Dewey's film, 6 is Gale's, 7 will be Sid's. Just my prediction

Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson totally hit it out of the park with the commentary in this one. To think this came out in 2011 and it's become like 10,000% more relevant today. The mass obsession with fame, the rise of Internet culture, rampant malignant narcissism. Hell, they even managed to parody Scream (2022) a decade before it came out: Young new cast comes in, replacing the original protagonists and taking over their franchise. (Tara & Sam are basically living out Jill's dream aha). Great reaction lads to this chronically underrated movie.
