Scream VI: How to Move a Franchise Forward *SPOILERS*

What I love about the Scream series, the leftover survivers. It definitely means that while legacy characters, the franchise can continue. There hasn't really been a horror franchise where the survivors are all linked. Usually it's a one off or two off but they end up dying too. Having a large amount of characters from the OG Scream series, the 2011 Scream 4 and the new Requels leaves lots of room for more stories.

Scream Vi surprised me. I didn't think another coming out just a year later would be any good, but it was great. I thoroughly enjoyed it and its new heroines

I absolutely enjoyed scream 6 it definitely kept me on my toes I really love seeing sam and tara being the focus this time and that the film takes place in new York I put this film in my top 3

When it comes to Sidney, I do think there is a place for her in the franchise, especially if they plan on doing some finale type of movie. Say Ghostface targets her family for instance. Sidney does deserve her happy ending, however there is a point to be made that not everyone gets a happy ending and whatever they choose to tackle with Sidney of she comes back going forward make it integral and not like they are feeling as if they have to have her there. I mean the Halloween franchise did deviate from Laurie strode in 4-6 timeline, but she is obviously still the main character of the franchise. Honestly I would be fine with either ending for Sidney, an ending where she's free and lives peacefully with family or one where the constant Ghostface attacks will always find it's way to her. I wasn't sold on the Carpenter sisters in 5, mainly due to Sam's actress leaning on dull surprise. However scream 6 explores her trauma to the point she herself makes a compelling lead. Melissa's acting really shined here. I know Gale's character is very divided in this film, even if I did like it.

100% agree. This felt like something else. It felt like OG Scream mixed with Scream 2 meets Jurassic Park (did anyone else get those vibes? Like BLANK trying to slice BLANK with the machete as BLANK tried to lift her up reminded me of the Lex scene in JP. When Ghostface breaks into the grocery store and the girls are in the aisles, it reminded me of the kids in the kitchen scene, etc). It was SO GOOD and SO DIFFERENT. And I loved the new opening - that felt like it's own plot twist. I do have to say I guessed MAJOR SPOILERS: JFDEJFNEFNNF SFHDFJFGJ That Quinn and her dad were the bad guys, I didn't think much of Ethan though and that was the only twist I didn't see coming.

One of my problems with Scream 6 is that the series has basically made most of its protagonists near invincible. At least in other series where it's instead the killer who's hard to kill it makes sense because they're superhuman or supernatural. The amount of times Chad was stabbed but didn't die was ridiculous.

Good review! I've enjoyed your Scream videos. I think Scream 5 and 6 have done a great job revitalizing the franchise. Scream 6 feels like a direct sequel to Scream 5 which I like. I like continuing with the Carpenter sisters.

One thing I didn’t understand was it takes in the place of what seems 3 nights, but people are wearing costumes every day 🤔 Los did you get the McKenzie reference? I heard they were killed, but not sure if it ties with Liv in scream 5.
