Just so the people that actually like this monstruosity don’t feel bad when they see this dude sexually assaulting women - “he said he would not do it without permission therefore he is so considering and that ultimately means I am not watching him actually rape the main character because she knows he is a ✨💫 *nice guy* 💫✨”

He just might be the creepiest *uintentionally unsettling* character I have ever seen. If we are nitpicking, there are *even creepier* characters like Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Homelander from The Boys, Carlotta from El Nombre del Amor or the villain from Possum. However... those people are SUPPOSED to feel creepy, while ulitmately, it seems like Lipinska wanted us to sympathize with Massimo as a redeemable ''badboy'' who's actually not that bad. Urgh...

My favorite line in this movie was him telling her: "I'm not a monster" Her reality.... 1. You stalked me 2. You drugged me 3. You kept me locked in your dungeon 4. You told me you'd never touch me without permission whilst literally molesting me without permission, a recurring theme 6. You kept me locked in a room 7. You had my clothes changed without permission 8. You refused to let me see my friends or family 9. You had me dragged on a plane and tied up on said plane 10. You restrained me in the bedroom without consent 11. You murdered some guy on the front lawn 12. You're super controlling 13. You watch me sleep 14. You sleep in the bed without asking 15. You wait in the dark for me to arrive 16. Oh, and you're not so secretly a part of the mafia!!!!!

Sad thing is, there are people that actually like this movie. I am from germany and when it was released, half of my class (i was in an all girls school) went and watched it in the cinema. Makes me so sad! So many abusers use this type of thing as an excuse to keep hurting people. Young women are the most vulnerable (although of course anyone can be a victim). Yuck! It's one thing to want to be desired, which is what I HOPE those girls really want, but this movie is the antithesis of healthy desire and attraction!!

What ticked me off about the author’s defense of her work was she tried pointing out the audience’s hypocrisy when they praise stories like Beauty and The Beast but criticize 365 Days. One story is about genuine love while the other is literal romanticized abuse. I think her goal was to call out the critiques people had regarding the Stockholm Syndrome by comparing the story to the Disney tale, however the latter had nuances that set it apart and actually had a healthy romance in it. Belle doesn’t fall in love with Beast until after he lets her go and she realizes he’s truly turned over a new leaf and learned how to be kind. In 365 Days. Massimo doesn’t grow as a character in the slightest.
@ScarlettOHara-zn8dn

Yea and also he did not throw that onto belle and force her to fall in love with him. She CHOSE to take her father's place. Beast never hurt belle physically. He wanted her to fall in love with him, but she was more important to him than his freedom so he let her go. He truly loved her and gave her space. She never knew she had to fall in love with him she just did.

JennyM1998 This is the logical conclusion of the idea that men and women are equal, and should be made equal, and considered equal, no matter what; every tendency gives birth to a counter-tendency; the tendency for a long time now has been towards equality; now, the counter-tendency is beginning to surge; and it doesn’t help that equality is impossible to achieve either; making everyone equal is as impossible as making every star in the sky equal in size, or making every tree and leaf and flower equal in color; and it’s interesting that women are the ones who are at the forefront of this trend towards a kind of primitive tournament world where the strong and the vicious and the powerful get everything they want, and everyone else gets nothing; this proves how futile and ill-conceived all of our modern ideas are.
@aquilo1714
@aquilo1714 4 жыл бұрын
JennyM1998 In the past, it was considered customary and natural and just for women to sleep with and fall in love with the men who were directly responsible for slaughtering their kindred in battle; the ubiquity of this phenomenon back then gave birth to a tendency in the feminine soul to fall deeply in love with murderous men, and turned this tendency into an evolutionary adaptation; this makes it universal; the popularity of this movie is nothing but a reflection of that evolutionary tendency in action; it’s quite disgusting, actually; if you take this tendency to it’s logical conclusion, then what you get is a fascistic world order, where the top tier is inhabited by sociopaths and the middle tier by their slaves and willing concubines and the bottom tier by everyone else; the realization of an order like this might be possible given how much technology is advancing, and especially biomechanical and biophysical control technologies; you have reason to be concerned; your intuition is in the right place; and it goes without saying that this is also part of the reason that the male suicide rate is so damn high; of course, for obvious reasons, no one in the mainstream will ever admit of a connection there.

The story of both the movies and books is so sick honestly. I can't believe this is an actual trope for romance media, and that some people actually like it; "woman gets kidnapped and harassed, is given every reason to hate the guy, but no, she has to fall in love regardless because he wanted to/said so". Also literally every time the guy is a mafia lord that nearly ends up getting her killed on numerous occasions because he won't leave her alone.

The was a TV show here in South Africa with that premise. I loved it. They didn't romanticise it. It was clear she feared for her life, he was a terrible person who killed and stole for a living. And it was made clear that it was rape because she couldn't consent since she was kidnapped

As someone who writes fan fics, I can say not all of us are creeps who only write gross smut stories like this. I just add a character/characters into a book or show I enjoy, here bye changing the story in my own way. (Sorry that this is so long and probably dumb).
