Like so many others have commented, I was able to build my own patio based on watching your videos. Found your channel a little over a year ago when the idea of doing a patio at our house came up. Thank you for being so inspiring and for being so open and transparent in your work. God bless!

Heck yea man, that's awesome! Love reading comments like this the most, that has been the main goal of my channel. Knowing that a bunch of people around the country / world are installing patios, walkways and walls based off my videos is super cool and motivating for me. Thanks for the feedback and congrats on your patio! God Bless you too ✌

Just finished laying pavers for a 32’ x 6’ walkway. My first time ever doing a project like this. It went very smoothly and looks amazing - and I learned everything about how to do it from watching your videos. So thank you for the free education! I used 2 pallets of rumbled Belgard Dublin pavers and noticed immediately that not only was there a slight color difference between the two pallets, there was also a slowly transitioning shift in tonality within the pallets themselves, with the pavers in the top layers being a slightly different color than those near the bottom. The obvious solution was to mix pavers from both pallets while also pulling from different layers within the pallets. Took longer to do it this way but the results speak for themselves. Just thought I’d mention this since I’ve not seen it come up in any of your videos.

Sweet! I love these comments and I seem to be getting more and more of them.... No better feeling for me than knowing my videos are helping people with their hardscape installs all over the country / world. Super cool, and it really keeps me going on the videos. The color blends can really vary from pallet to pallet... Glad you caught onto it and made the right move. I talk about that here and there in the paver videos, but it is a very important thing to do. Congratulations on the walkway! ✌

@@TheChristianHardscaper My bad for not being more clear! Yes, your videos frequently include a reminder to mix pavers from multiple pallets. In fact, you mentioned it in this video. What I didn’t realize, though, is I’d also need to mix pavers from different layers within a single pallet because of the color variation from the top layer to the bottom layer.

Great videos! Wish I had seen the open grade base videos before I installed my patio. I went with processed aggregate base and concrete bedding sand because that’s what the local dealer said I should use. Hey, would you do a video using that installation method? If a situation allows for its usage. I’d be curious to try your method. I do think it would last longer than using processed aggregate and concrete sand.

Love your videos! They have really help me with my DIY patio. Question for you: Do you do your Polysand after your concrete edging? If so, how does tamping the blocks after the first layer of sand effect that? Thanks so much! Keep up the awesome work.

My boss is very old school only uses string lines to grade. No poles. Make 4X6 squares and grades it. Takes too long and easily make human errors. Worked with a different company before used poles and turned out better but he won’t listen lol
@TheChristianHardscaper3 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that man, some people get stuck in their ways and can't move forward. That is a very old school and slow way to do it. Plus it is not as accurate as the way I and many other hardscapers do it. Just keep grinding and maybe one day you will be calling the shots on your job. ✌

Why put down the mesh instead of the plastic? Is that now a better option choice for size, type paver or other reasons? Amazing work as usual. Just a great team and friends.
@Max_Persic3 ай бұрын
Are you referring to the geotextile under the base or the geo grid in between the rock? If you’re talking about the geotextile. It’s because it allows water flow, and he does have it underneath. But if you’re talking about the grid(which looks like mesh), it helps stabilize the base. Not always necessary. But added insurance on soil that tends to shift more over time

Yes we do, once we get it to correct height and check it with our rails, then we compact it before re setting the pipes and screeding. ✌

Hi Kyle The work you guys do is beautiful. Why the geogrid in the base stone? Just more stabilization? Also, where can I get that Brazilian hoe ? That thing is awesome! Thanks, John
@TheChristianHardscaper3 ай бұрын
Hey John, thank you very much! And yes, the geo grid just adds some more stability to the base stone. It is not necessary in my opinion but the customer specifically asked for it to be safe. I said it will only help, so went ahead and did it. And unfortunately, I have not found anywhere online that you can buy the Brazilian hoe... and I looked all over... I buy them from a local landscape supply store that is owned and run by Brazilians. They must have the hook up from back home...LOL I hope all is well and the season is going awesome for you all! ✌
