Matt, just a suggestion for a bird house scenario. And it will greatly benefit the garden also, for next year's planting season. AND Blue can have an awesome building project that any or all of you can work on as a family, get Crow involved. Look up and search Purple Martin Houses. It would take too long to fully explain here, but basically Purple Martin is a small communal bird that live in large family colony's. They are voracious insect eaters, but they DON'T eat seeds or crops, which is why they're good for the garden. And the houses are cool and fun to make. Each house has multiple holes and can house up to a dozen or more birds, depending on how large you make it. AND part of the process is you post it on a tall metal pole, so no worries about Sue being able to climb and get to it. Just a thought. We had one on our farm for years that my dad and I built and put by the garden. He cut the pieces and the design for me and then I had to help assemble it and paint it and install it. Still there 40 yrs later and still being used every year, although it's had to be repaired a few times over the years. Totally organic pest control. They eat mosquitoes, too. Fun part was, in the evenings, the whole flock would come out and do aerial gymnastics over the pasture. I have happy memories of watching them just dancing and catching bugs. Look up "murmuration". Martin's are in the Swallow family of bird, but they do it too. Pretty spectacular. Hope you try it out.✌️❤️

The birdhouse looks really nice on the fence post with the flowers growing around it! The bathroom door looks great! I love the wax color you guys use! It really is a tricky balancing act for parents to know how much is to much when it comes to gaming and social media. If used properly and not to excess, they can be a great tool to learn/get information. Our son, (also an only child and adopted) who is now 18 and in college, would watch KZbin videos to learn about Rube Goldberg machines and get ideas to build his own. It was amazing to see the machines he created using his Legos, wooden blocks, cut up cardboard, paper towel tubes, tape, rubber bands, floor fan, anything he could get his hands on (to include some of my cooking utensils, plastic ware etc. which would turn up missing, but I always knew where to go find them😁). He is now a Physics major with a minor in math in college. We are lucky in that when he was young, he was always good at entertaining himself with his toys, books, stuffed animals etc. when my husband and I had to tend to household chores. When he got older and got his first cell phone, he never wanted (and still chooses not to have) Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok etc. A friend of mine and former Kindergarten teacher, always uses the phrase “The best thing you can spend on your children is time”. I think it is a great sentiment! I truly enjoy the content you share on your Vlogs! You are always so genuine, honest, fun and can really get me thinking and seeing things in a new (positive) way! The nest box is from a 4 star hotel, the birds will certainly not look elsewhere. I enjoyed the little glasses fitting session, a real rock star with some pairs 👍👍. I must admit that your bathroom door is perfect, now that it has been treated with Briwax ( great product ). In my opinion, gaming and social media is eroding the youth. We used to play outside and build tree houses and forts and used our imagination. We sang and acted different plays and movies. I’m glad you guys are such hard working and loving focused parents. And both really handsome as well!!

Clinical therapist here: I'm a gamer. Always been always will be. Anything is an issue if you avoid food, sleep, hygiene and social well being. So if that's not the case then the person is fine. I usually recommend only weekend play for upto 4 hours a day. Summer time they can get an hour or 2 a day. (Every family is different) But I'm so happy you get involved in what he loves because many parents never indulge in their kids interest.

👨‍🏫 our son's teacher said we should give our son digital time. From the age of 10: 2 hours a day and a maximum of 10 hours a week. 🧐 The children should learn to deal with it, like with pocket money. How much do I still have, how much can I still do. 🤓 If he has saved up something by Friday, he can use the whole digital time. Even in the most annoying case of 10 h. 🤯 The digital time includes cell phone usage, video games and TV. All teaching content is excluded: vocabulary app, KZbin tutorials, etc. One hour of digital time is added each year. It is amazing that our son really reflects on what he does and how often he can do it. 🤗 But I think - here in Germany - we‘re more strikter as in the States. 😅

I understand that birds do not like to set-up a nest in a "used" birdhouse. So, I would suggest taking off the bottom again and placing a hinge on it so it can be cleaned-out each year. Just a suggestion. DA

U are not alone. My 2 sons have given their kids a max time per day and they control that time through an app that requires parent permission for time blocks. The kids choose from the parent approved games how to spend their time allotment. Good luck!
