Screen addiction is real thing. I try alot to not use my phone much but always end up 5hrs+ screentime. Still trying to decrease it. I give no time to drawing (& studies too) because of it.

This is the pain of it. Alt the time that could have been spent on hobbies and projects! I think this is so important to reclaim!

I think screen addiction is one of those things that everybody thinks they are on top of, or that its something that does not affect them that much. But this kind of attitude is like assuming that you are smarter than the people that created the system that you are addicted to. And the bottom line is that you are not smarter than an algorithm or than a product designed to satisfy your evolutionary needs. Thanks for reminding me to address this addiction .

Yes, exactly. The technology is so advanced that we even forget that things could be different, if we are not remined once in a while. Thank you for your insight

I've been letting go of a lot of things this year...started with quiting sex, went on to quiting masturbation and I'm 8 months clean, I'm over a month without watching porn because i kept on relapsing and id watch porn once every month...now I'm trying to quit screen time and learn to cultivate silence

That's awesome man! you should be proud of yourself ❤

Insightful video. Trying to quit too many addictions too fast can make it a lot harder. You're only 3 weeks into no sugar? Personally I'd wait at least two more weeks before tackling the screen addiction. Good luck.

I think you are right. I need my undivided attention on this diet. Slipping back into sugar will create a lot of issues I feel like.. Thanks

But what is the estimate days to reset the brain back to normal from any addiction, like sugar or phones?
@EmilIllum6 ай бұрын
@@piks3543 Depends on the severity of the addiction. The addiction will always be there, but the addictive patterns in the brain can be totally deactivated. They will always be there ready to activate again. That's why alcoholics can never go back to "just one beer" for example. Same with other addictions. For you to feel no pull at all could be months or even up to 2 years. Should feel alot easier after 2 weeks though. Only improvements from there!

Screen addiction is what I have battled with the most. There are a few websites and apps that can block the main websites you go to for certain lengths of time. Easy to unblock them unless you get a paid version. I also have an app called "Minimalist Phone" which I'm yet to open but you may like to check it out 😊 I only have WiFi in certain rooms which helps. Do watch a lot of telly though but I tend to knit while watching so at least I'm still creating something 🙂 I am now ensuring that I go for a daily walk and do daily yoga. That and I'm staying hydrated and eating well finally so I feel I'm on track. Good luck! PS If you still struggle with a white tongue you may be low on zinc, I read that in my book the other day. I need it too for other reasons. I recommend you read into essential vitamins and supplement with them if unwilling to eat fruit and veg. Just a suggestion, I'll leave it up to you 🙂

I have minimalistphone. It's a great app since it cleans everything up. Meat and eggs have a lot of zinc, so I should be good. I has something to do with my stomach breaking down the fats. I takes time to get used to it. But thanks Heidi ❤

Not far into the video. But what about healthy addiction? As an example, exercise can be addictive in its release of serotonin. You talk about replacing addictions with other unhealthy addictions, I wonder if there are more healthy addictions to replace them
@EmilIllum6 ай бұрын
Yes, you are right. That is a very important point I should have added to the video. I guess I just wanted to focus on the pattern of pleasure seeking. But replacing them with better habits is a great strategy! 🙏
