Wolverine & The X-Men was so underrated. It angers me to no end that it got cancelled after one season when there was so much story left to tell; and it ended on a cliffhanger. That show could've run for at least three seasons, if the 1992 X-Men series could get picked up as a Disney+ original series, then Wolverine & The X-Men deserves one too.

Great vid! True story: when I was 10yrs old in 1991 I met Chris Claremont at a local comic book store signing for X-Men # 1 & after my friend told him that he loved his work on cyclops which he smiled at then I said (sincerely) that I loved his work on Logan/Wolverine and he literally shook his head at me, I assume because he was so popular but keep in mind this was before the cartoon came out! This devastated me. I was a genuine Wolvie fan and Claremont was a jerk to my 10yr old self smh anyway he’s a brilliant writer but I won’t ever forget this! Make mine marvel..

I've only been following the Marvel world through the movies and tv shows. I never read comics as a teen (or adult). But then you mention Nightcrawler with some comic stills... and I had a memory of reading those comics as a kid!... yeah, I was a kid from the mid 70's to mid 80's 😮 That was some bad-ass stuff 😋

I’m surprised you didn’t mention the podcasts-Marvel’s Wolverine and Marvel’s Wastelanders are some of the best superhero media out there!! So much great drama and writing and acting. Highly recommend if you want a great dramatic story that pushes Wolverine into new territory. In fact, your guest Joe Quesada is a producer on both franchises, so it’s very authentic to Wolverine!

When the series was about to go under and X-Men bounced back that change giving heroes real world problems is more entertaining to me than super hero problems. Relationships became way more realistic by having range and depth.

Guys, this is a absolutely wonderful video! You all clearly put so much work and thoughtfulness into it. Claremont is also a really significant figure in the history of comics who I think deserves to be up there in the public imagination. So much of what we now take for granted in comics came from Claremont's run on X-Men. Plus, he seems like a really nice guy too.

So happy to see you recognize Chris Claremont - I feel he is one of the most overlooked but influential 😊creatives known to hardcore comic book readers from the mid 70’s through the 80’s but unknown to many fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as the Fox X-Men films. Claremont’s collaborations with Byrne and Miller were iconic setting the look and tone of Wolverine and the X-Men. The character driven stories foreshadowed what would happen - the established personas were so consistent you could very accurately predict character reaction, conflict resolution and other plot devices. Those stories definitely solidified my love of reading and appreciation of good writing and character development.

Havok and Wolverine: Meltdown was and still is my favorite portrayal of Wolverine. Kent Williams and John J. Muth's dark and violent paintings; juxtaposed with Louise and Walter Simonson's storytelling, depicted Logan's grief and revenge tale better than anyone before or since for me. All the violence, all the feels.
