This video covers the preparation of a hinged screen using the Drawing Fluid & Screen Filler combination method.
Screen designs can also be created using plastic stencils, green sta sharp films or Diazo photo emulsion.
Drawing Fluid and Screen Filler is the easiest method to create permanent screen designs on your own.
(I really love Diazo but I've had such hit and miss attempts on my own that I've started paying a professional to create screens when I want one done right.)

You could also tape off the inside edges of screen both sides the same .

Wow! I didn't realize there were that many steps to do screen printing. I tried it many years ago but mine didn't work out. I have more respect now for those who do this. This was an interesting video. Thank you. Hugs!

+Connie Krueger I was more fussy than was needed because the paper stuck to the back and made me have to do 2 coats. I like this method a lot better than the photo emulsion - which I always have trouble exposing properly.

Hello, thank you for the tutorial video! It's helpful. Could I ask how long does it take to make the drawing fluid dry?

Hi and thanks - glad you like the video. I left the drawing fluid a couple hours to dry. I think 3. Make sure to mix up the bottle before applying.

Don't leave the paper underneath and do not put the Screen Filler on unless you've made sure to elevate the screen by 1/2 an inch or so. If you had to put a second coat on was because you just literally pushed the filler onto the paper underneath and, basically, printed the filler on it. You would've saved a lot of time by being just a bit more careful.

Pierre Foisy Why is it that the people that criticize never have any videos of their own to offer?

@@LezleyDavidson Here is a series of videos from Speedball that teaches the correct way of applying drawing fluid and screen filler, although I would trace the drawing on the screen instead of eyeballing it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmmqe32foKqdiqM

@ Lezley Davidson One does not have to upload an own video in order to comment that a technique presented might not be the best. This has nothing to do with criticism. It's great if knowledge is shared but your video and mistakes you mentioned yourself shows well that you most likely do not have experience. Never mind, the intention to share something was a good one. This should not hinder you to progress your skills going forward.

Hard disagree. It’s easy to criticize creators when you don’t have anything published. You’re case in point - nothing published, nothing uploaded, not even a profile pic. I respect the feedback of other creators who are giving to the platform. Investing their time and energy to share their skills and interests. I’m not interested in hearing critique from those sitting in the cheap seats contributing nothing.
