Another thing about Birdie’s characterisation is that she was an influencer/model that threw a party where no one was wearing masks in the middle of lockdown. Peg (i think is this birdie’s publicist) told her to not use her phone as well as no one else was using phones so that they can circumvent even further backlash on social media. A couple days later the government of France announced that the Mona Lisa is safe and sound in storage in the basement of the Louvre. That, unbeknownst to even the French government, the curator of the Louvre had sent their most convincing replica. I actually disagree a little with the mask thing on one character. I loved how they used masks in this movie to hint at characterization as well. Ben Blanc wears a simple but stylish polka dot one (which is fittting). Lionel is a scientist and his mask fits his face perfectly and securely. And yes, Birdie wears a fishnet one because she's vain and "it does nothing". But my impression with Clair was she is running for governor and is running around doing 15 things at once. Her mask is nude colored and stretched out, so it slides down from so much use. And of course, Helen when she sees Ben Blanc. She's a teacher who has been inside most of the pandemic and didn't need to go out. She has a paper mask because that's what she'd use for the 2 or 3 times she'd go out.
@UdoADHD2 жыл бұрын
I agree, Clair is just so busy and juggling so many things that it just slips. I believe we see her adjusting her mask a few times
@mrmoth97662 жыл бұрын
someone had a great analysis of claire's mask: that she, as a politician is incredibly concerned about her reputation (as we see in the movie) and that she has an idea of what she is "supposed" to look and act like as a public figure. she wears a mask, but it is ill fitting and keeps slipping down her face. her mask has adjustable straps, but she never uses them, so it gives the impression that she doesn't care and it is just for show.
