Focus: By their very definitions, art and commerce seem to be locked in a perpetual conflict. One aims to unearth hidden truths, break new ground, whereas the other seeks to profit by pleasing the audience, by not disturbing status quo. The writer is considered a natural rebel, the producer, an establishmentarian. Ergo, the relationship seems riddled with tensions, anxieties and suspicions. And, yet, neither can survive without the other. So, can we at least understand each other’s point-of-view?

With all due respect the moderator should’ve done his research, until Aamir didn’t start talking I was confused about what the discussion was about, as no proper problems were talked or highlighted in the beginning, other than that You can’t cut peoples question saying you don’t have enough time and waste more time explaining the question... would’ve loved to hear more of amit, while some main points were not even discussed like the criteria of script selection or what a producer looks for in a script so writers can know what they have to keep in mind while writing...

The gentle man who is hosting wanted to convey that the producer take ownership of a book by paying a cost to author and made changes in story according to the socitey and give a growth in both aspects of the changes. Who is more into evolution to the socitey.

Anjum, tum bolatey bahut ho. Is debate se kuch khas nahi nikla. Because of you. Ek sawal aaya tha ki writer producer tak kaise pahunche ? Tumne to usse khatm hi kiya. Kisi aur ko baat hi nahi karne diya. He was trying through out to push his own image and FWA,rather than find answer to this question. He could have said we'll get the production houses to have an email id to which writers fanmail script,wait a stipulated time for reply and then a no they can call. Receive acknowledgement. This solvesmany legal problems. Samsara hi nahi. Very disappointed. Amir ke presence ka ya Siddharth ke presence ka fayda nahi uthaya.

Anjum sir, you need to understand something.. Be fair or be who you are. The first guy who spoke, you didn't let him explain his situation and made him cut short his issue and made him sit. but the second person (the lady) was allowed to go into a full back and forth discussion about her situation. This is unacceptable, irrespective of who you are. I don't know whether it was because the man spoke in Hindi and came from a small town or his clothes or because the woman spoke well in English or because she is a woman.
