Clifford, thank you so much for your hard work, making video, notes examples! very informative and also very inspiring. Scriabin Schoenberg Stravinsky is very interesting especially on guitar with jazz rock fusion interpretation

Wow interesting, what a beautiful sound. In a band scenario, it could get messy with overdrive, but Mahavishnu managed to make these kind of harmonies work so lets go for it.

Thanks! The way the chord is set out it can sound either quite sparse or ironically very congested. It's great for rich piano harmonies or plucked guitar vamps. Also, really useful for orchestral "Suspenseful" writing. 👍

Another inspiring Video - thanks a lot, Mr. Clifford! Playing your examples I unconsciously had the concept Of G Melodic Minor over the Tonic E in mind (without g). This works good for me because it fits to my playing-style and it seems to have this certain Scriabin-Sound.

Thanks Rolf! Yep, without the G note the magic is created because there is never a resolution that the ear is accustomed to hearing or expecting. 👍

It's basically a Lydian b7 chord/scale, isn't it? Liked!
@CliffordMartinOnline8 ай бұрын
Thanks Luiz! Yes, But it has no 5th which creates a bit of magic as it never revolves to our expected resolutions, and so it possess a very mystic quality to it. 👍

@@CliffordMartinOnline That's true! In fact, I realize that omitting, adding or altering notes of existing scales is a way of adding an original perspective to them.
