This review is very true. As a newbie, it takes me an hour to transcribe a 6 min audio. So that's 1$ an hour which is very low. I don't know how fast an experienced transcriber is but even an experienced transcriber may not be able to make more than 5$ an hour with scribie. But scribe welcomes newbies and they give you a review of every file you submitted which will help you get better at transcription. So think of this as earn while you learn thing. But if you are an experienced transcriber then it's not worth the time. Also thank you Jennifer for giving an honest review. There are a lot of KZbinrs out there spreading false info just to get more views but all it brings is disappointment to people.

i currently live and work a day job at a country where there is an ongoing internal political conflict and civil war so there is a massive inflation going on and our local currency is at its lowest, so any amount I could earn in foreign currency would help out my livelihood A LOT. Hey Jennifer, can we really trust scribie with our paypal info even before we get approved? I find that a bit sketchy for some reason, that they get your paypal info and if you're not approved, they still get to keep those details. Feels uncomfortable.

I live in South Africa (one of the poorest countries on earth), so even just $1 is R15 more or less in my currency. If I can get just $10 a day with this, I'll be sorted 😁Hopefully the wait list isn't bad, because Rev said I had to wait 4-12 weeks for them to get back to me.

Rev has gotten alot stricter with accepting people because of covid causing so many jobs lost, that they basically only now take the best of the best. And this one to this day I'm waiting for them to add files 😂The struggle is real, still trying to find ways to make paypal money 🤣

You make $25 per hour if your overall grade is 5. In your case, your overall grade is 4 (on the right of the platform) and you can make only $10 per hour. For an overall grade of 3, you can make $5 per hour.

Thank you, Tonya! This is primarily transcription. There is a built-in speech to text software and you have to edit the transcript, but it is full of mistakes. So usually people prefer to start from scratch! You may prefer to work with a better paid company like Rev since you have so much experience :)

You are very welcome! I recommend you check out my latest video on this subject. There are so many AI tools available right now that do automatic transcription with almost perfect results that I really believe transcription is a dying industry. I think it is better to get into proofreading and editing rather than transcribing. I don't offer any training other than the videos on my channel. :)
