Thanks, is scrip dividend lodged in CDS in a different symbol like right issue and it bigins trading at up or down of the declared price, depend on the market price of the trading day? Eg Rs 3.50 .

This is a good question.. The consideration for which the shares are to be issued (Rs.) Voting :41.50 /= But the closing price on 19th February 2021 is 61.70/= Can they select arbitrary value as the consideration price ??

@@jsfoundation8526 I just can't think of any reason regarding why they consider lesser price if price doesn't comes down to 41.50 share holder will get more than 2 rupees as scrip dividend

I have a small doubt on the calculation of Scrip dividend on 19th Feb 2021 price, after the Scrip dividend declaration the share count would increase, if so, the effective dividend should be calculated on a lower price per share( which has taken into account the new shares) and not the share price on the 19th of Feb right? So in reality wouldn't the scrip dividend be lower than what the company states, since the share price immediately drops after dilution of shares?

If someone hopes to invest in a company for a dividend purpose, it is better to invest in non-voting shares, am I correct or wrong? Because, most companies pay the same dividend for voting and non-voting shares, and also non-voting shares have less liquidity than voting shares. Can you give an explanation video regarding this?

I am not very clear about why we need scrip dividends... If the company keep the cash as retained earnings, then NAV increased and the share price will automatically follow (Like Berkshire Hathaway do) As I can see, due to the scrip dividends, company have to have some additional expenses. 1) Pay tax on dividend (even for scrip dividends) 2) Company have to have some cost on adding these new shares in to CDS What do you think about this ? ... Correct me if I am wrong..
