Worked in doc’s and unscripted development, these sizzle trailers are very common and essential for pitching to execs. There’s no problem using clips from existing sources, it’s all internal. Pitch decks are still needed, but you usually send the sizzle link first before diving into the details.

So well thought out. I'm going to take this concept and run with it.

Love it. Amazing concept trailer. I agree with Pedro. My experience has been that Producers and other decision makers just don't have the bandwidth and a screenplay is just another log in the log jam. The concept needs to be visual and emotional and this is agreat way to get the vision across.

I'm pleased you dug it Ricardo. Most non-writers...hate reading. But if you can get them excited...

I see this as being effective for someone who has their foot in the door but if you don't, those with say in the industry won't look at a trailer from someone they don't know. I've had the same problem in getting people in Hollywood to read my book or book trailer.

In school we called this a Ripomatic. And I know some people will balk at this BUT it's real and often useful to show your vision without spending huge money on shooting. Before Gary Ross directed the first Hunger Games film, another director was working on it after selling his vision through one

But is it my job as a writer to present actors in my story? I will do a concept trailer for sure. This was a great interview. Thought provoking!

I like the pitch for this pitch trailer! 😊

How is this no different than suing AI to make a trailer? As an indie filmmaker that didn’t go to film school, if I showed up with something like that I would get laughed out the room.

Hello you please help me sell novel first then movie out of it how I do???
@formulaic783 күн бұрын
Write something with a large target market that is similar but slightly different to something that came before. Then send to an agent. I have failed at this as I have tried to write original novels with no defined target market except people who appreciate originality and good writing. I have learned that agents don't: unless perhaps you're a genius or your work actually does fit a target market or trend.

@ ok thanks where do we find the agent should we live near hollywood do we have to send out mass emails?

@@DreamArchitect there are lots of websites that list the names and addresses of agents.

@formulaic782 күн бұрын
@@DreamArchitect Google is your friend for agents etc. Amazon is fine except you need to have a way of letting people know about your books. All my books are on Amazon but with no platform or extended network I have been unable to sell many.

I can’t imagine sitting down with a studio to pitch and showing them footage from a movie they already paid for. I’m sorry but this sounds like a waste of money for writers.
@multigeekmedia4 күн бұрын
This is super common, a sizzle tease can really help. Especially if you are going to a sales company or one of the film markets to get financing. Executives love this type of stuff, since they hate reading, so it's a damn good idea.

@@multigeekmedia You're bang on about sales companies. Imagine you're in Cannes. And rather than showing an exhausted sales company rep another AI pitch deck you hit them with a one minute trailer that shows them HOW to sell it.
