Thank you so much for this message. What a blessing it is. I truly believe that anyone who has been born again through the Spirit will want to obey Jesus...to maintain a loving relationship with Him. And will find that His Commandments are not burdensome.

Those who love Christ Will. You also must clean up your heart from the deadly sins through prayer and fasting to prepare a place for the holy spirit.

I have really enjoyed all your lectures that I've heard, and I agree wholeheartedly with your fundamental point -- Jesus's teachings are the lens through which we see Paul and others. Modern Protestantism (and I'm a Protestant) is looking the wrong way through the telescope.

May I add grace also gives us the power to work the works of faith. Titus 2:11-12 "For the grace of God that brings salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;" I think this is extremely relevant and wholly unknown or glossed over by many. In fact, the word for grace is charis where I believe we get our English word charisma. "Mid 17th century (in charisma (sense 2)): via ecclesiastical Latin from Greek kharisma, from kharis ‘favour, grace’."

After years of trying to get Paul, I came to the conclusion that If salvation comes through Christ, and Christ is my Lord, and my King. Then it doesn't matter to me what Paul thought, taught, said or did. I just wish I could go to church and learn about Christ, from what Christ said and taught. Without all the focus being on Paul.

I looked at the 1611 kjv and in Romans 3 the word law is not capitalized, I thought David said that the law of Moses was capitalized?

Concerning "Law" versus "law" in the later KJV and NKJV, irrelevant. Most people know it's talking about Mosaic law, capitalized or not.

Humbly, I found this to be quite relevant. Can you please provide some citation showing that most people know that it is talking about the Mosaic Law, capitalized or not?
@stephenmac1917 жыл бұрын
Sure, if you can provide some citation backing up the author's claim (showing that not capitalizing "law" leads to confusion.) The context of how "law" is used makes it clear what is being talked about. Which is why various commentaries like the Darby commentary refers to the Mosaic Law as being the law talked about.

To be clear, this was a great video by the author and I learned a lot. I just took issue with this one point due to the reasons stated previously and the fact that I haven't ran into any Christians who have been confused by the lack of capitalization of "law".

The supporting evidence is overwhelming. The letter was changed to lower case with intent to deceive; being a prop designed to support this theology it was taught as such for centuries. In my estimation, the average reader would not have the same or similar understanding in this regard as those who write commentaries, in particular those who accept Protestant theology. My hope would be that the intended meaning of the word would be commonly recognized however without speculating on percentages I would propose that currently this deception is numerically significant and worth mentioning. I would agree that in your personal experience, most people know it's talking about the Mosaic Law.

What did the early church believe about eventual universal reconciliation? That's what I want to see.
