I have finally found it....Vin Scelsa used to play this when he was a DJ on WNEW 102.7 FM radio back in the 1970's. I sent a message to Vin Scelsa and his daughter told me the name again...How WONDERFUL....

John, I remember listening too. I have it on cassette tape somewhere from Vin's show back in the 90s. He did some great Xmas shows. Miss that kind of terrestrial radio. 😢

It's not Christmas without Lord Buckley. Most brilliant, awesome dude ever.

I first heard This in the mid 1970's. A NYC DJ, Vince Scelsa, played it once a year, every year. I eventually found it in MP3 form and started playing every year, for my young children. They LOVED IT! And my now 27 year old daughter still listens to it. A true Classic piece of Spoken Word.

Alleluyah, This one I was not hip to until this day. On the subject of Mr Trager's book I had it on order for a year but it never seemed to get itself published in the UK. Thanks mcarlucci and the artists for this labour of love.

Came here because Tom Waits said Lord Buckley was one of his influences. Here in 2020, I can hear the scat rhyming that seems so modern today with spoken word and rap. (reading his bio, seems he was hanging out with all the coolest montage of people...Cab Calloway, Red Fox, Norman Mailer... Quincy Jones being one of the people to come to his trial... How old is Quincy Jones?! He's worked with everyone.)

His Trial? Oh for reefer in 1941 maybe..

@@foresttemple1380: NO, His 1960 trial about the Cabaret Card System (that was used to silence entertainers with "unpopular political opinions"). ~ ("Talk about civil rights?! We'll revoke your Cabaret Performers Licence for a 20 year old charge we dug up.") *Quincy Jones was 8yr in 1941, your guess doesn't even make any sense. By 1960 Quincy Jones was a 27 year old prominent musician and producer with TV and music.

This is the greatest Manic story telling of Scrooge/ The Christmas Carol. Lord Buckley was awesome..and he was really talon Beat talk, or Beatnk.. but he had to inspire many comedians Both White and Black.. I love this ole Scroogie Scrooge...

I first heard of Lord Buckley from a college classmate who was constantly mumbling Lord Buckley's lines from "The Naz".

I let the commercial play all the way through, and in fact I clicked on it so you might make some money from your monetization, because I LOVE LORD BUCKLEY THAT MUCH!!! :)

For me to say that I am disheartened to see that YouzzzTube has tacked on corporate ad content as a prequel would be an understatement! It is beyond annoying. I don't know the policy. I'm guessing that after a certain number of views are reached, leaching, greed-ridden capitalism kicks in. But, for the record, I am not making any money from this, nor do I have any desire to do so. This was a labor of love. And to that point, I am so glad you and so many others have liked my little homage, GeekiestWoman! So I say to all; skip the bloody commercials whenever and wherever possible!
