Scrooge McDuck has been revealed to have a daughter! After the series finale of DuckTales (2017) “The Last Adventure” we now know Webby Vanderquack, the young duck raised by Bentina Beakley aka Agent 22, was actually a clone of the richest duck created by F.O.W.L.! Bradford Buzzard and Black Heron led the creation of April, May and June all in hopes of taking the McDuck family down!

On the one hand it really shows how ruthless and dangerous Bradford and Black Heron are, and what lengths they're willing to take to take out their enemy Scrooge McDuck. Which also have the ironic effect of only expanding Scrooge McDuck's family. But at the same time I can't help but think they kinda ruined Webby's character and development, by making her related to Scrooge along.

I super agree with "Webby didn't need to be Scrooge's daughter to be considered a McDuck." However, I think that's one of the reasons why I love this twist so much. If Webby wasn't already so close to Scrooge and the family, this might've felt like more of an excuse to include her. But because she was already included and very much loved by all, finally revealing her backstory and learning that she was closer to the McDuck's than we ever thought before felt like an earned conclusion. I think that the show has done more than enough to reinforce the importance and abundance of found family/unconventional family structures, so linking Webby to Scrooge genetically doesn't undermine any of those wonderful messages. To me, it was a nice cherry on the top of both Webby and Scrooge's stories, adding a bit of depth to their relationship that only this version of DuckTales could've dreamed to even attempt. I think it was a bold choice that was executed well. I love how everything comes together in the finale, the writing this whole season has been hinting and building to this. The writers planned this out so well and its so satisfying to me. As soon as the Papyrus of Binding was introduced earlier in the season, I wondered which of the kids would find it, and I don't think I ever guessed Webby. Watching this show was such a cool experience, I'm sad to see it end.

Webby is genetically identical to Scrooge, supposedly (though I personally think that FOWL used Scrooge’s DNA with female DNA to make Webby, making her Scrooge’s biological child), and therefore May and June are biologically identical to Scrooge and Webby. Ergo, Webby, May, and June are all the same. Technically, they’re Scrooge’s siblings, but due to their age, they’re instead treated as daughters. If we go by my theory that Scrooge’s DNA was mixed with female DNA to make Webby (and how else did the clone end up being female? Why would FOWL specifically change so much DNA for a project that was to remain secret?), then Webby is biologically Scrooge’s daughter. As her twins, May and June would also be Scrooge’s biological daughters.

Thank you for explaining this. Webby was Scrooge's true heir and not May or June because she earned Scrooge's love beforehand, not because of her direct blood relation; when FOWL used her to get the Papyrus, Scrooge had already accepted her as part of the family. It doesn't cheapen the message that they're blood-related because May and June are genetically identical to her. May and June were still complete strangers to the Ducks, so they couldn't have possibly found the Papyrus themselves. That's not even mentioning their OWN concepts of family; of the three, only Webby understood that family is more than just blood, and as far as she knew at the time, her only relation to Scrooge was being raised in his manor. But she still saw the Ducks as her family, and even now that she knows, Mrs. Beakley, Lena, and Violet are still her family, too.

Watched the first episode of Season 1 after watching the series finale - and noticed something REALLY COOL...A few moments after Webby is introduced, she strikes a pose in front of a statue of Scrooge. (She’s facing the boys, and the statue is at her back.) I don't have a background in genetics, but I have read that, supposedly, making female clones would be easier because the "Y" chromosome is difficult to replicate. Maybe Bradford thought it wasn't a good use of time or resources to make an exact replica, and decided that an heir was an heir. \That said, I do think it's weird that they separated May and June from Webby at the end there. I guess I think they're all sisters, which makes them all Scrooge's children. So why are Donald and Daisy taking them? Especially since Donald was adamant the entire time that this was a romantic getaway for two. Why would you throw a wrench in that plan by taking two strange children that you've had next to no interaction with you? They probably would have been better off staying with Webby, Della and the triplets. As an aside, thankfully they don't have to be raised for very long at FOWL, since Bradford says they used the right amount of fountain of youth to age them to be Webby's contemporaries. The only reason I can see them doing this was so that Webby would trust them more quickly, as well as making them more easily manipulated. Thanks so much for the great video! Keep up the great work.

I am curious how outside the family is Webby treated with this reveal. And by family, I mean outside Scrooge's day-to-day family such as Donald, Della, the triplets, and her friends. Mainly Scrooge's parents, his sister, and people from Scrooge's company since the biological and dubious facts of her birth. Also, wonder if due to Webby being Scrouge's daughter, what will that mean for her future. At the very least, I do see him try to train her as a CEO of his family since after the vultures, may want to keep his company in the family. Not to mention how close he comes to dying, I can see him train Webby as someone to take over along with the triplets.

I always knew that Webby was somewhat related to April May and June since in the Dutch version she sorta is. So little explanation for those who don't get it: the Dutch names for April May and June are Lizzy (April) Juultje (May) and Babetje (June). When they were translating the original DuckTales to Dutch, for some reason the translators thought that Webby was one of Daisy's nieces. So they named her Lizzy. That caused a lot of confusion since April May and June/Lizzy, Juultje and Babetje where frequently featured in the Dutch Donald duck comics and people thought that DuckTalesWebby!Lizzy and comicApril!Lizzy where the same character. In the reboot they kept her original name in the dub and the make a lot of references to the original show. Maybe the writers intentionally made Webby April and not one of the other girls because of this? Or maybe it's just coincidence? Either way, I'm screaming
