Discusses the joint efforts of RTD, together Southern California Gas Company, to bring compressed natural gas (CNG) buses to Los Angeles. RTD was the predecessor of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (or Metro, 1993 -). Southwest Research Institute designed the CNG-powered bus engines.
