I think the saying "NT" is prominent in one life shooters. The situation where I've heard it used the most often is when a single person on the team is still alive and in a scenario where must clutch against multiple opponents but fail to do so. Their teammates knew that it's unrealistic to expect their lone teammate to successfully clutch and might say "nice try" afterwards to at least commend them for trying.

Also in CS specifically the difference between leaving 4 enemies alive and 1 enemy alive at the end of the round has large implications on the next round even if you lost the round. One life shooters also don't have retreat and wait for respawn as an option so you are trying to choose the best outcome, and you also need this last person alive to be not in the mental gutter for the next round which is basically 25 seconds or so after they die, there's no time to sow and reap the salt like you can with dota's 2 minute respawns. Additionally because the next round starting resets the game state to an extent being a bonehead once is less damning.

Btw for the WK death at 39:19 it wasn't the cleave its because is ult is now activatable and he accidentally clicked it - you can see because the Kunka was not facing him and the creeps in the large camp took no damage so there is no way that it was cleave.

NT is definately a genuine gesture, i dont think i've seen it much from the opposing team but like when you're dead you see your teammate play and get in that moment and you can feel the clutch trynna happen so obviously when you fail you feel for the teammate

NT is absolutely legit. It's because it's used in situations where succeeding would be absolutely poggers. Like winning a 3v1 is a huge moment that even if it's against your team you're still impressed. So someone getting close gets a genuine Nice Try.

To be fair saying "nt" in CS tends to seem pretty genuine; but to Pyrion's point, at the low ranks I've experienced in the game (Mid Silver to MG or so) where the most toxic people live, nobody on the enemy team tends to be saying it. Its usually just people on your team who throw it in unironically when you tried to clutch it out; I've experienced quite little backtalk in any form from the enemy team in 600 hours or so of CSGO

with nt in counter strike we do mean it. Normally though unless it's really impressive we don't type it to the other team. Players can get quite frustrated and typing nt can help keep people from tilting and turning your game into a very unpleasant experience.

I don't think "nt" has found ironic use in cs (yet). If you fail a clutch there are other preferred ways for the team to be toxic such as swearing at you and/or your mother.

WK was full health, he accidentally hit ult. Wraith king hits wraith king for 1800, he fat fingered his ult, checked the replay. Also arcane orb delays its impact, its a terribly long animation. Please also keep in mind not every spell is dispellable... SUCH as astral imprisonment and shadow dance. Nullifier is strong enough it doesn't need to dispel ults lads. This game was so frustrating to watch.

Just as a heads up, with full respect to the two, Undying gets more intelligence per level then he does strength. He has always been an int heavy strength hero in the vain of Overlord and back in the day Magi. I get why they do not like the projectile speed, but I bet undying saw a 4 second slow with 200+ damage and went, "get stuck in tombstone and this bonus slow while getting a DOT." Honestly, have one pro get stuck early because of the slow or the tick of damage killing them after they juke out and watch everyone be going, "Melee witch blade new meta, honey!"

The thing about nt is that you can use it to flame when someone just did a stupid play, but honestly I don't think I have seen it used as a flame. Saying nice try is maybe just too polite and neutral for a flame. Tipping in dota is almost like throwing coins towards begger, so it makes some sense.

In terms of NT it is a thing in valorant as well, not just CS, there are definitely instances of it being used sarcastically but the overall most of the time it is sincere Though it is mostly teammates saying it, be rare to get it from an opponent (more likely to be sarcastic at that point) though Ive definitely had it when Ive almost won 1v5s and such

The things i dislike about dota over league is pretty long list but the main one is how few items seem to be "meta" at any given time... i feel like i watch these videos and you see pyrion saying people should be getting bkb (whatever that is) constantly, force staff etc. On top of the amount of CC every single champ seems to have you just don't get to do anything in the fight... you just sit and watch as you die with no ability to do anything about it...

BKB is Black King Bar, an item that, on top of other things, gives you immunity to any debuffs for a short period of time, which then allows you to ignore the CC of various heroes. Pretty useful item in just about any context, which is why Pyrion always wants people to get it

Positioning and initiation are huge parts of dota, so if you get caught out and a whole team jumps you you should expect to not be able to do anything to escape. You let them jump you, so you've already lost your chance. BKB is one of the items that will always be relevant to many heroes, but just about every single item in dota has its uses in different situations on different heroes. You're not getting an accurate reflection of dota items from watching people okay at the game watch people bad at the game
