My MIL originally thought that I was in a relationship with her 29 yr old recently separated with 2 toddlers daughter. (26 years ago now, a beautiful and very old fashioned woman). When my now husband came home from Uni and met me, poor MIL nearly died when we became close. Bear in mind that I was only 18 and he was 28. The grace she handled the whole thing speaks volumes of her character. We ended up married 18 months later (I was 19)...... My FIL found a rather highly regarded Trumpist to play Purcell's Trumpet Anthem for my wedding March. My MIL encouraged me in all ways professionally as we were both Speech and Drama Teachers. The love they showed their son in accepting me is an example of love to emulate. 25 years on, we are still happily married, quite a few children growing up far too quickly and ..... my MIL is one of my best friends. A truly good woman! I'm so proud to be her daughter!
