Wow! What a great store! And thanks for the nice tour through Surugaya. Looking forward to part 2. As for interesting items, I was smitten by the loads of dead stock. Would have definitely taken a few of those with me. Also, Top Hunter for the Neo Geo CD looked really fun. Never heard of it, but your footage made it look really cool. The Neo Geo CD still seems relatively affordable, or at least compared to the AES. Upon re-watching the footag I also found Metal Slader Glory Director's Cut for 46,500 Yen. That game looks really interesting and goes for a lot of money online. Still, cool to see here. A very interesting oddity. The selection of Super Famicom and PC Engine games was awesome as well. I especially dig the Japanese artwork for Gain Ground. I only played it on the Sega Genesis and that was very fun to me.

Oh, it is always a treat to come across so many dead stock games. Neo Geo CD definitely has some hidden jems. Metal Slater Glory is an interesting piece of Famicom history, isn't it? I come across it every once in a while, and it's always out of my price range. Gain ground looks like a fun shoot em up from what I've seen online, too.

Beautiful flagship store there in Shizuoka, Japan mate! I love the inside where it had so many games & consoles as well! Some the prices where so bloody ridiculous that they should be cheaper! We all aren't billionaires & millionaires here who make a lot of money! Can't wait for Part 2 soon & stay safe in Japan Scruffy! 😀👍🎮

14:19 Art of Fighting 2 has a nice SFC port, worth picking up if you ever see it for cheap enough. 15:29 That version of Magical Drop 2 has really come up in price. You can get the SFC or Saturn versions for cheaper, and the Saturn version I'd say is better than the Neo CD version. The SFC version is pretty darned nice as well (yes I have both of these versions). 17:27 Sir, you missed the Japanese at the top of the label, definitely not a PAL variant. 😉 20:09 That Madou Monogatari is really expensive (to the right of Fausse Amor), and the main protagonist, Arle (the girl on the case) is voiced by none other than Sailor Moon's VA, Kitono Mitsuishi. The PC Engine is the only console to have her voice Arle on 3 different games, MM, and both PCE CD Puyo Puyo games (Madou's spinoff series of puzzlers). 21:25 Yes there was, it's prequel was known in America as Kendo Rage. This sequel star's that girl's younger sister. Yeah, those prices are out of control, like people are out of their damned minds. But you can be sure some person, usually someone from western nations, who'd gladly drop their entire savings just to buy these games, thereby insuring prices never go down, and us poorer folks never able to afford said games.

Yes, i have definitely seen the SFC version from time to time ill have to pick one up next time and check it out. Yes i realized the japanese after reviewing the video doh. Oh i had no idea the game was voiced by the sailor moons voice artist. very cool im sure that is probably why it is so expensive? Yes Kendo Rage i recall seeing it at super potato going for a price i was not willing to pay. Yes prices are as high as ever but the good news is i have been seeing some prices go down as of late in general so thats good news.

Wow, those boxed Virtual Boy games are really affordable! Everything else boxed seems to have skyrocketed. Have you played Super Empire Strikes Back? It’s unbelievably hard compared to the first game. Tons of enemies swarming and pushing you into pits, even on easy setting. You have to be an actual Jedi to ever leave Hoth!

Hey Bjornh, Yes, prices here are all over the place. But some prices have started to settle down a bit in my opinion. Yes I did play Super Empire Strikes Back as a Kid and I do remember the difficulty. Its not a forgiving game. I don't remember if I ever actually made it all the way through or not. So I'm definitely not a Jedi yet.

To be honest I was better at games in my teens. I first played Empire with a cousin, he defeated the first boss. I don’t recall the game being impossible until the first Han Solo stage. Nowadays I can’t even finish the very first stage, the regular enemies quickly overpower me! I’ve beaten Super Star Wars on normal, and I found RotJ to be the easiest in the trilogy as long as you play slow and safely.

Was there a few weeks ago, bought Rockman FC CIB and Bucky O'hare CIB both in really good condition, cost about $1000. I got my 10% tax rebate though. On my first visit I ran out of money before I saw everything.. just so much stock. Went back a week later with wifes consent to spend on Credit card.

@@ScruffyLookinRGB It was on the basis that when I returned to the UK I wouldn't be moaning about not getting them and wanting to go back again. I really wanted Bucky more than Rockman, but I bought the other 5 Rockman games and she wanted me to have the whole set. My Rockman has a tiny tear from a label on the front it was Y102,000 but the rest of the box was mint. I was surprised to see in your video a completely mint one for Y148000. Thats a lot extra to get a perfect one. I saw a video recently of the Suragaya warehouse. I can tell you these games are not as rare as you think. They had about 10 Rockman FC brand new, loads of Buckys as well. It was a warehouse and quite a lot of the stuff was brand new from FC onwards.. If you want to see it I'll send the link.

Great question. I'll be sure to add more survival game shopping Japanese for you in the next one. In the mean time here is the romaji equivilent of what you want to say. "kesu no naka ni misete mo ii desu ka?" or "kesu no naka no gemu mitai desu" basically i want to see a game in the display case.

My brain immediately went to "kesu o tasukete kudasai" and im sure that would have gotten some funny/confused reactions xD. A survivor guide sounds awesome if you wanted a video idea! So many tourist are rushing to visit with the yen fluctuating so much (myself included), that im sure a lot of people would find it very useful!
