I am SOOOO excited to find SCRUM and Sutherland. I read Dr Deming along time ago and did the best could to use his theories in the Co's I started. I have grown discouraged over time because I needed fuller application of his theories. It's Sutherland is the FULL application of Deming's teachings. Im EXCITED!!!

This video represents the heart of Scrum. Scrum is frequently implemented by people who are intoxicated by technology, speed, and check-boxes, and the intention of the psychology of teams is lost. Scrum requires the values presented in order to be implemented to its full potential.
Jeff comes across as nerdy, inspirational, down-to-earth, and motivating at the same time! ;-)

The entire video was worth having come across the inspirational quote by W. H. Murray. Thanks Jeff!

I stumbled upon this while I was searching for any resource on why exactly it's these 5 values and not a different number or just different values. Jeff points to "significant amounts of research" in the video - does anyone have any links to any of them? Or an explanation why it's these five values?

In "scrum" his book you can find all the references! It's also available on audible

I have 3 more values : Integrity, Humility, and Benevolence. Integrity means that what we say and we do are in alignment. Humility means we put our egos away. There is no added "social status" because someone is in "charge". Also people can admit to being wrong or learning something new. Benevolence means that we genuinely care about each individual on the team as well as the team itself. Our teammates are never to be called nor thought of as "resources". They are not parts that can be removed and replaced at will.

Admitting to being wrong is so undervalued. It's a value we all can benefit from.

In my search for a short / high quality video to share with the executive leadership team of the manufacturing company I am coaching - I came across this. Though it doesn't specifically address the "advantages of using Scrum for non-software companies" I think this is fantastic. I am going to incorporate it into some of the training I do. If anyone knows of a good one that better fits my mission, please feel free to contact me. LinkedIn...
