Finally a modded GX 550, I’ve been hunting down content for these. Looks absolutely amazing, dudes got great taste. You have the first tune I’ve ever heard of as well so we need a serious review of this monster. Love it.

I have the GX 550 Overttrail currently in the shop being lifted and getting a set of Grapplers and a low cut front winch bumper. My husband showed me a picture of the bumper and I think it is the exact same bumper on your GX in this video. I recognize the recovery hooks. It is my 4Runner replacement, so it is my dedicated overland/offroad adventure rig. My 4Runner was my overland/offroad adventure toy and winter driver. I never thought anything could get me to swap from a 5th gen 4Runner, then Lexus unveiled the beautiful GX 550 Overtrail lol, answering my prayers for an off road capable luxury SUV with modern technology lol

Lexus marketing failed the GX 460 and it wasted away as a perceived soccer mom mobile, but this time Lexus's marketing team has been on a very significant marketing campaign, making sure people know EXACTLY what the GX is built to do😊 Thanks for the reply! @@JP-du4mk I actually sold my 4Runner TRD Off Road a few months before the GX 550 was unveiled, because I was leaving Vancouver for Utah USA for a career opportunity. So by "4Runner replacement" I just mean I bought the GX 550 to serve the same purpose as my previous 4Runner, which was my dedicated modified, off road toy, overland adventurer, winter driver vehicles. I had 12 years of amazing adventures and wonderful memories in two 5th gen 4Runners, so I love the 5th gen more than any other vehicle, period lol. That being said, buying the GX 550 Overtrail was an excellent choice! It was the only choice for me lol It has more power, modern technology, luxury, but feels very familiar to a 4Runner lover😊

So this GX started life not as an Overtrail because it has third row seats. Which means no eKDSS and no rear locker. Great build though.

Needs a bit more clearance for those 35's. I saw the rear fender pop off on that little bump you hit. Nothing major, you can always modify it, but an extra inch of lift would help a lot.

Looks amazing inside and out. I have a GX460 so the only thing that concerns me about the 550 is the V6 Twin Turbo engine. There is no way it can possibly be as bullet-proof as the out going 4.6 V8. That was one of the main reasons I picked up the GX460.

Really loving this mod, as it reminds me a lot of my poor man's FJ cruiser (that I modded a ton)- and highly considering this over the Sequoia TRDPro... But is there an engine issue with the twin turbo V6? (I can't tell if they are the same engine with variants or 2 different engines : The Lexus GX 550 has a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, while the Sequoia has a 3.5-liter i-FORCE MAX twin-turbo V6 hybrid engine. GX 550 has 349 horsepower, while the Sequoia has 437 horsepower)

Looks cool but I'm not sure why someone would invest this much time and money to only reduce suspension travel and not have KDSS or MTS/Crawl Control. If it is really for the 3rd row, good luck fitting anything/anyone and gear in the car at the same time..

Looks great. But the lift here was accomplished by adding 2.5" of preload to the spring. Without preload, the shock has about 4" of downtravel. The 2.5" lift via the method here takes 2.5" away from the downtravel. So now this truck will only have about 1.5" of downtravel. That means the wheels will not drop normally into dips in the terrain, and offroad performance will be massively reduced. In addition, the increased tension on the spring will change the uptravel too, likely reducing compression over obstacles as well. In other words, fine for looks on the pavement and smooth roads. But a world-class offroading machine has been turned into a much lesser vehicle. The suspension has been seriously compromised/downgraded here. To a serious offroader who knows what they're doing, this doesn't look cool; it looks naive and tragic. As for the front bumper, that definitely seems like a terrific upgrade. I'm looking forward to seeing more information about how it takes hits and whether its mounts have proper give in a fender bender like an Arb that slides back a little to save the frame.

@@usrsf6kx2fl9w you might be right but as you know this is a brand new vehicle and there’s not alot of options out there especially since we really wanted to run 35’s. This was the only way to get a bigger tire and still we have some fitment issues. We’re currently working with King to possibly run their full suspension so stay tuned!!

Any extra armor undercarriage? Is there an engine drone with the exhaust? What is the total mod cost, if I may ask? Man, so many questions! Which trim is it, btw? TIA

@@MrKozanitis thank you for your questions! It’s getting 13.3 mpg with mostly highway driving at 80 haha And there is no drone on the exhaust at all! As far as the warranty goes, Lexus of Temecula does the same lift with 35’s so it will be taken there for any warranty work if needed. I have most of the mods linked in the description and as far as the others their website has them listed as well 👍🏽

This is essentially a luxury land crusher it's extremely capable off road the issue here is that he put 35" tires on it and it doesn't have proper clearance. That's a over sight on them not an issue with the truck going offroad
