Come to find out, the captain can not only dress fish, he can also catch the heck out of them! Watch as he catches a 2lb 11oz as well as a 2lb 14 oz slab crappie! Two wallhanger trophies within just a couple of minutes apart! The Santee Cooper Lakes are full of giant slab crappie, with catches over three pounds not too uncommon. We filmed this in the fall, which is one of the best times to catch slab crappie.

Mr. Davis I've never fish crappie in Santee but I was thinking about down jigging the railroad trusses between Packs and low falls would say that's a good fishing spot all down the pilings and about what time of year can you catch them?

Joseph that is a great place to fish. Also go straight across from packs into the woods and jig around the cypress and tupelo trees.
