Need to run higher than 87 octane if you were expecting large gains. The stock tune does quite well on 87 but leaves a lot on the table with the higher octanes.

I am running 93 on 87 and 93 tunes. Yes there is a definite difference in performance and mileage.

No need to drive the truck. The SCT tunes included don't do squat. THE SSI tunes I purchased worked great. We have now dropped all SCT and Cobb tuners and are self tuning with HP TUNERS.

Yes sir a 5 Star tune and it came in a X4 from 5 Star ,they offer a few different SCT tuners but it's there tune and it was like night and day from stock is all I can tell you. I bought the tuner from him for my 5.0 coyote pickup and when I traded it for the EcoBoost I just had to order a new tune for the same tuner .I'm not sure how the regular canned tunes differ from his but was referred to them by a few people

Not really. When you consider all the aftermarket parts out there for my truck then one would reasonably believe that a tuner would have a few of them incorporated in tt to adjust for. Well, that was a big nope. Also the advertised gains were nowhere close to 140+ hp.

Well I bought it to correct my speedometer and hoped it would improve performance. It did neither on its own. Only when I went with SSI 87 and 93 tunes did I see any performance gain. I should have explained further that I was accustomed to full access to tuning everything via an aftermarket EFI system I run on my 351 Cleveland. This tuner does nothing compared to the adjustability in the EFI system. This tuner was $400 and the complete EFI system was a bit over $800.

I looked into this tuner before I bought anything. 5 stars everywhere I looked. However no one showed what came with it or what was adjustable. Or how much or little you could adjust. I think more or less it was buyers remorse in the beginning and when I found out I must spend $175 more for actual performance tunes. Was this all it does for $400? Yep!

I have since discovered Forscan. I still have yet to find the correct code for my size tires to get my speedometer to display the correct MPH. I, however, discovered there is incomplete information with Forscan. While adjusting tire size I found the instructions were associated with 2015 and up trucks. 2013 requires entries in different blocks.

@@BOSSC351sProductions As a tire wears it loses up to 3" around the circumference therefore making an exact match to the factory setting pointless. +/- 2% is normal for the MPH.

I have only found one good use for this tuner other than to load tunes. I can adjust tires size to get close to what is on my truck. Still, my speedometer is 2-3 MPH off and that is unacceptable for what this unit costs.

I have a cheap superchips tuner that got my speed dead on I'll trade you! Have you measured your tires? If they are mud tires and have been wore down try putting the tire size ½in smaller. 2-3 mph can be changed by removing 15psi on a stock tire.

@@rynomadman1 I have two number settings in the range of my Renegades. One is 2-3 MPH off and the other is about 5-6 mph off. The settings are in increments of 5. If the increments were smaller then the ability to fine tune the speed reading would alleviate the problem.

Obviously you have not tuned a stand alone EFI system where everything can be changed at your fingertips. Its only $800 to 1200 bucks for everything. And I am glad you are willing to toss $400 away for a couple of minor settings and to load tunes. Its your money. Never said anything about handing the world over. I said I expect more for my money like most intelligent people expect for theirs.

I have no baseline to start with. This is because the dealer installed the wrong tires on the truck. They went by the factory base tire size sticker at the drivers door but failed to consider it had the FX4 package with the 20" wheels. So, MPH was way off. I mean wayyyy off. However, I tested MPG between the SCT basic tune VS the SSI 87 tune using cruise on the interstate. I found no discernible differences in mileage on a 650 mile round trip. 325 on the SCT tune and 325 on the SSI tune. My mileage ranges from 14.5 to 17.5 depending greatly on speed as well as highway or city. The slower the better. There is a huge difference in performance feel.
