For a comedy show on a shoestring budget, I am always impressed with the costuming they did for period piece sketches. Everyone looks stunning here!

Wow, as a kid I taped the audio of this episode on cassette tape and listened to it over and over. Haven'e seen the video since it was broadcast, 1980 or so. Thanks for posting this!

These Real and Older Commercials are just a Bonus to the Actual Episode. I Honestly thought for a Min that the Polka Commercial was Fake Lmao!

I thought the polka-record commercial was part of the show. Edit: of course Dave Thomas would have been narrating, had the volume a bit low.

What on earth was the logic of the TV station pledging a commitment ‘to people’ …as opposed to real estate ? Asparagus ? Navel lint ?

Taken from then-ABC affiliate WPEC CBS 12 in West Palm ✋🏻 Beach 😎, Florida, in the wee hours of July 26, 1986, and originally broadcast 🔊 at 3:30 🕞 am Eastern.

What did they do wrong to cease to be an affiliate of the American Broadcasting Company?
@jamesmcclelland1414 Жыл бұрын
@@QuadMochaMatti WPEC was forced to switch its affiliation from ABC to CBS on January 1 (New Year 🎊🎆🍾’s Day), 1989, in order 📑 to compensate for the fact WCIX (which had switched from Fox 🦊 to CBS as part of the 1989 South Florida affiliation switch) had a weaker signal 🚥 north of Miami than the other Miami TV 📺 stations 🚉🚉🚉🚉🚉🚉🚉🚉🚉🚉.

John Candy was so good as Poirot I suddenly feel eternally ripped off to never get a proper John Candy detective story

@@VHScape thanks for reminding me! But I meant more serious and thoughtful, not slapstick comedy. His poirot exposes how perfect that sort of part would have been for his acting style.

Hmm... I just noticed while letting the theme run on this episode, there’s Dave Thomas and in the upper right it shows Doug McKenzie ? well before series 3 and Rick Moranis joining ! I’m guessing these later syndicated tapings weren’t always using the themes as originally broadcast. But by the time we get to series 6 every episode shows characters unique to that particular airing.
