This is excellent and very detailed! I really like the one-handed number method for the reasons that you say you teach it. A few more that I thought of: "Out of Air" (throat slash); "Low on air" (fist to chest); "Come up a little" (gesture with open palm, fingers up and down); "Level off" (flat hand left to right ); "Cut" (scissors motion) ;"Line" or "rope" (fingers crossed); "computer stop/deco is clear" (wipe computer face with palm); "turn around" (spin vertical finger); "A little" or "small" (thumb almost touching index finger); "Cramp" (fist bumping affected area); and alternative "stop" or "hold" (vertical fist).

Nice review. Thanks. Where are those number signals taught or used? I've been diving for 30 years, been through many NAUI & PADI courses & have never seen these. It's always been place a number of fingers for thousands on opposite forearm and then hold up a number of fingers for hundreds. Kind of hard in the dark though. Good job.

We taught them this way in our courses and we were taught this way through our NAUI courses. The reason we teach them with one hand is so we can flash our light with the opposite hand in low light environments.

@@carlossagaro5977 I think they're great, especially as they involve only 1 hand & free up the other to hold a light or hold position on a line. This old dog might have to learn some new tricks. Thanks again.
