Scuba Diving in The Sims 3 is amazing (and terrifying)

The Sims 3: Island Paradise came with the buggiest world in the game, Isla Paradiso, but I managed to get it running smoothly again.
I decided to become a professional scuba diver despite the fact I am mortally terrified of sharks and not overly keen on deep water either. What was I thinking?

Honestly, I'm quite fond of your channel because you're one of a slim handful of male sims players who do fun stuff like this instead of immediately installing basemental drugs and extreme violence, killing a bunch of random sims, then putting the game down never to be played again. You actually put effort into what you do and you even play female sims as often as male ones! As far as male simmers (and female simmers in another direction tbh) go you're basically a unicorn lmao

@@peachesandcream22 Call me Kevin still the same as she described. I double checked, that's not what she likes about Ryan. Ryan really plays the gameplay, not as a joke. Even if at the end he starts a fire where someone dies lmao. Personally, I like that his sims don't look like a joke either

@@peachesandcream22 I've been watching Kevin since he was at 100k and yeah even he's like this. He's one of my favorites but all of his important sims are male, he uses extreme violence a lot, he does meme videos without really understanding how the game is meant to be played, etc. There's a time and a mood for Kevin, but Ryan is such a breath of fresh air in that regard, since I feel most male players do what Kevin does.

​​@@ryanplaysthesimslast time i played was 5 years ago on pirated 15 in 1 or all in 1 version on a weak laptop, but such thing never happened. From what i read later it can be caused by patches requiring other dlc to work properly. Interconnection in sims 3 is wild once you start reading patchnotes

@@ryanplaysthesims ive built a lot of resorts and i must warn you that people get REAL whiny if you dont have every single type of buffet table, a pool, a hot tub, and outdoor food stands like the ones you find at seasonal festivals. huge pain in the neck when i was trying to build an upscale cabin retreat in riverview.

I love this expansion pack! I would live out my dream island life through my sims. During your play through, all I could think about was how many times you saved your game because of crashes or if your sim died while diving or being taken by the Kraken.

I can’t play this pack, I play on my MacBook Pro M1, 64-bit metal. But on this particular configuration, all the water interactions don’t show up in the game and there is no way to fix this :( So sad, I wanted to do a rags to riches with scuba diving, so I love watching you play it ;)

I have the same problem and unfortunately I don't have a fix either, still waiting for someone to mod this, but you can still play with scuba diving. For me only the ocean is a problem, but sims can snorkel in pools to get their scuba level up. Then I can click on the icon of the diving spots from map view, which lets my sims dive there. Can't catch fish underwater, (same as bugs on land) but everything else works. It's not great, but at least it's somewhat possible. The 64 bit version is a bit of a pain in the a**, but maybe this helps

Some of my favourite game play was done playing TS3 Island Paradise, it makes me sad that it's so buggy. I remember having a family I played for months and so much unplanned chaos happened but it was amazing and with all the island stuff to do, then the save broke :( and I didn't used to back up saved then, so it was gone forever.

The world isn't as buggy as you'd think. It's not on my computer. It only gets a bit laggy tbh but other than that it's great! I absolutely love that world and the things you can do in it, just wish you could do more with the island living pack in the sims 4 like this.

OH! Oh!!!!! Ok, to fix the mermaids you can cheat and age them up and then back down again. I have a save file where I did that with a sim that was old and soon to die anyway. Just cheat someone so they know everyone then invite all the mermaids/mermen over (I think there are four of them), age them up then go to full edit mode and put them back. It's tedious but afterwards just save the file and then every time you want to play Isla Paradiso copy it and play the copy instead of creating a new one. Or get the save file I told you about in the other post and do it in that one and same thing.

Ah man, been a looong time since I ever dropped by Isle Paradise.. I'm guessing its unstable as hell as ever and Mia is still there with her uncanny valley to the max. I kind of really miss this open-world feeling on Sims 4 regardless how buggy as hell it got. Especially around Ridgeport and of course, this island. The Neighbourhood progression is hell, but sort of kept things interesting.

The last video he did with this pack he ended up deleting all the families that live in house boats and it seemed to help. I don't think the game can handle the regular world activities in addition to all the water graphics.

There are certain houses (not just houseboats) that have routing issues that cause the game to lag. I can’t remember them now but google will say which houses need deleting. The nraas overwatch mod helps to reset things that might cause the game to lag over time too and it’s an absolute game changer!

Anyone reading this, any advice to have this pack run better? That maybe doesn’t involve hours or deleting and moving sims? Is there a mod or anything like that? If I have to delete a lot of things that’s fine but I literally can’t play with this pack and it makes me sad! Idk if it’s my laptop or just the pack. Thanks!

What I did was delete every houseboat and houseboat lot/ports, get NRAAS mods overwatch and error trap, and only play with this pack and the base game enabled and I was finally able to play. Hope you get to one day!

Three words people with lag in IP. DELETE THE HOUSEBOATS YOU can drive a houseboat, but if you don't delete the others, or make them community lots, NPC's will drive them around causing your world to tank.
