I think you can tell by her smile that she feels alive discussing these things with him, that she realizes she is more passionate about this than medicine beforehand. She is right where she wants to be.

I love Mulder's laugh when she tells him he's crazy lol. They are so cute. I love how quickly these two bond. They may have completely opposite sets of beliefs, but they don't resent or look down on each other for it. They actually enjoy the back-and-forth, and they recognize that bouncing ideas off each other actually makes them more effective.

That smile at 0:20 that partners and buddies give. It's only episode 2 of season 1 and these two are so cosy for one another!

I actually love carter's commentary for this scene. The implication is on how quick they bond. The bicker and banter but it's only E2 and they're really attached. They actually like each other, even though they are at opposite sides of the belief spectrum. Stimulation is the key word here. We already saw it when they first met in the pilot, the kick they both get out of clashing their ideologies together. But that they inspire and challenge each other. Here Carter is getting across that they enjoy working together. That those smiles amongst the banter are intimate. Scully is charmed by him. He's mulder and unapologetically himself. He'll air guitar to the radio, try the youth lingo with the kids "see ya later dude" 😄 but still fascinates her. There's no one quite like mulder. And that's a good thing. He has the bravery and conviction to exist outside of society's box. And is the purest character on the show. His belief and his passions are incorruptible. The truth is out there and mulder will never stop trying to find it. And Scully very quickly falls into his world. Remember it's open that she's there to report and debunk his work. But Blevins picked the wrong person. Because she's fair and good, and starts to care about mulder very quickly. But What an own goal right? The biggest i think in the show. Blevins "agent scully we want you to assist and report on mulder as his partner. Ya know destroy the x-files and fuck him up. Stuff like that" Scully " ok so you want me to actually work with him, bring credibility with my science bent, make the x-files more sucessful, make mulder a whole person and inspire him. Oh and also fall in love with him? Got it." *clarice's out of the office like a boss" 😎 Blevins "this may be a big mistake. Let's wait 4 seasons to find out" 🔫 ⚰

Their back and forth like this is what we live for. It always ends in a smile, a head shake or just the two of them wanting more of the same. Watching them become life partners was worth it. Miss them terribly.

I was watching this season of the X-files in late nineties, in my 11-13 years old. I adored Scully, she was my role model and i dreamt of a haircut like hers. But i never got one , 'cause it absolutely doesn't fit my type of hair:).

I’m sure lots of people noticed Seth Green I remember noticing him when I first saw this episode back in the 90s. I remember thinking that guys only acting stoned if he was really that stoned he wouldn’t buy lots of NFTs later on
