I connected the power from the board air assist control position. Then use a solistat relay. can control the automatic turning on and off of the air from the lightburn program.

😃 Oh, thats a good idea. I didn't realise the air assist connector was enabled on the S9 board. I probably have a solid state relay somewhere. Sounds like a good project 😃. Thanks for watching 😁 👍

Frank, thanks for the setup instructional. Can you please tell me what text software you use either GRBL or inkscape or Lightburn ?? Ta Ta

Nice one Frank, got my eyes on a second hand s10 with a pump, but if that doesn't work out I'll be getting one, might have a job cutting out 500 leather things! ATB, Cliff

@CliffsShed 😃 Good luck Cliff. An S10 with air assist should be a great tool. I've never cut leather before... I imagine it's going to get a bit smokie 😆. Don't forget your extractor. Let me know how you get on 😁. Thanks for watching 😁👍

What would you put for the cutting settings? I am having an issue with getting things to cut all the way through. I have done 600sp/85pwr. Any help is much appreciated
@frankslittleworkshop8 ай бұрын
🤔 Hi Kasey. Thats a difficult question to answer as it all depends on which material you are cutting. The absolute best way to find which settings will work best is to use the "Material test tool" in lightburn. If you set that to line it will help you decide the best speed and power to use for the material you want to cut. Also it obviously depends on which laser you have. I assume you have the S9. So please remember as its only a 5W laser it has its limitations on the size of material it can cut. Ill find a good video that will hopefully help and post a link below. I hope that helps 😃. Thanks for watching 😁 👍

Hi Frank, Done a good job there with the air assist nice and clean cut in to the ply, If you get the chance I would change the plug and the adaptor there is no fuse in them just put a 13 amp plug and it's only 16 watts use a 3 amp fuse. As always a great video , catch you soon Take care👍👍
@frankslittleworkshop10 ай бұрын
😁 Thanks Shaun, Yep, great advice. Now i know its all working its one of the first things i intend to do. It would probably be fine but i don't think i would be comfortable leaving the adaptor fitted permanently. As a nice new 3 pin plug is needed 😁. Thanks for watching mate, catch up with you soon 😁👍

very well explained good video. You should just count how many times you said ok, that started to get a bit annoying at some point.
@frankslittleworkshop3 ай бұрын
@renevogelvang8546 😆😆 Yep, sorry but it's the only way I can stop myself from stuttering or saying "err" or some other stupid noise that shows how nervous I am in front of the camera. So "OK" gives me time to think and time for the viewer to absorb the information. Thanks for watching all of the "ok"s 😁👍

@@frankslittleworkshop okay then I understand, sorry that I started about it but even my 5 year old daughter who was listening started to complement you by saying okay at the end of your sentence every time. But I will not speak to you about it anymore now that I know and the explanation in the movie was good and I will definitely watch more videos of you.

Well that was easy. Does your software have a database merge option? It would be nice to do a template to cut what, 8 or 10 at a time, and then just keep putting in new sheets until all the names are all cut. You could be done in no time. Another video that has made the cut, and I thank you for it. 😁👍

😁 Thanks Chris, yep, thats the plan. now i know its all working and i have the optimum settings i can start batching them out 10 at a time. so far i have just been using some off cuts of ply. now its time for the big stuff🤣. Thanks for watching mate, hope your well😁👍

Dear sir i try to used but laser power is low when cutting how to adjust??
@frankslittleworkshop7 ай бұрын
😁 Hi Tanawat. This is only a 5.5W laser. It is really only for engraving and not really for cutting. If you want to cut then I suggest getting a more powerful laser. To get the most power from it set the power to 100% in lightburn and the speed as low as you can. But make sure you are focused correctly or it will never work. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching 😁 👍

Hey Frank, I hope you dont me reaching out to the Lasering guru lol, I've set up my skulpfun S9, followed every step from yourself ( Awesome ) however when I have done my design which is a key tag for my dad and started the cut and engrave on 3mm MDF it goes around the outline as if to cut it out, then it engraves beautifully.....but ! lol it hasn't actually cut it out, I've tried 100% 3000mms and 100% laser strength and 2500mm and also as 100% at 1000mm a minute......Heeeeeellllllllpppppp please.
@frankslittleworkshop7 ай бұрын
😁 Hi Ian. Obviously I haven't seen your setup but to me it sounds like your going far too fast 🤔. Remembering that its only a 5.5W laser, so its not the most powerful laser in the world. Its easy to watch loads of videos on KZbin where people are easily cutting through material with no problems. But you will find they have 10 or 20 or 40+W lasers with video that is at fast speed. Sounds like you need to slow down the laser (a lot), try not to always run the laser at 100% (it can shorten your laser life). And try to use multiple passes. And finally (but very important) make sure your lense is clean and is focused correctly. I hope that helps mate. Thanks for watching 😁 👍
