To anyone interested in sculpting, I HIGHLY recommend Philippe Faraut's DVDs. They are incredibly informative and the techniques he teaches are extremely helpful. He really breaks down complicated anatomy, forms, volumes, proportions, etc. into a simple and fun process. They're the best sculpting videos I've watched.

I must say your details and level of perfection is beyond this world.😍😍😍👍 I immediately jumped from Pinterest to KZbin to search for ur channel and I've subscribed immediately. I felt u were working with chocolate, it looked smooth and creamy. Clay looked liked butter. U made it look extremely easy but I know I've made some sculptures and it's time taking and difficult untill unless u love ur work. 👍👍👍 Thanks for such amazing art piece.

I tried working with polymer clay and it was a nightmare. Stuff was so hard I could barely form it. Not sure if the wuality was shit or if I had to warm it up before working with it. When I started working with it, my fingers would keep warming the stuff up and it would cause dents and change the shape of my sculpture. At some point I got so annoyed I gave up and downloaded Blender instead. I managed to sculpt an almost perfect head of my Skyrim character there in like 3 hours, it was so easy and intuitive. I think I'll stick to 3D modelling, lol.
@TheZapan99 Жыл бұрын
Most likely you were using the wrong type of polymer clay for your needs. Super Sculpey (pink) is much more soft than Super Sculpey Firm (grey). Using a rolling pin or a pasta machine, is is easy to blend the two until you get the desired firmness. Your other problems probably derive from the way you built your armature. Just like painting miniatures, it is much easier to sculpt when your model is properly secured to a wooden base that you can use as a handle. Warming up your clay in a bag dipped in lukewarm water (not too hot or you'll bake it!) can also greatly improve your work flow.
