THANK YOU SO MUCH I have been watching your stuff for a while now and I’ve always wanted to do this but it’s really hard to know what kind of stuff I should get for sharing things and these videos help me out a lot and personally I feel like more tutorial video showcasing different types of silicone would be very appreciated and also a good tool for other novice like me, so please keep it up. Your stuff is amazing. Also, I have another question. I’m a beginner and if I ever get silicone it’s going to be the first time I’ve ever had so con in my life and I wanna make fake fingers to give to my friends, but I want to use a squishy silicone so that way it’s not stiff and super rubbery what kind of silicone that squishy would you recommend to a beginner?

I’m glad you liked the video! I would recommend ecoflex or dragon skin silicone made by smooth on. You can buy them on Amazon. They have different versions of these and the lower the number the squishier it is. I used ecoflex 00-30 in the video. Another thing you can do is buy slacker by smooth on which is an additive that makes the silicone softer. You just add equal parts a, b of ecoflex and then slacker.

Okay so I have these two items (Alginate Molding Powder Refill for Hand Casting Kit - Non-Toxic Casting Plaster Material - 1lb (454g) - Perfect for Anniversaries, Birthdays, & Family Activities - Create-a-Mold by Luna Bean) and (Ecoflex 00-30 - Super-Soft, Addition Cure Silicone Rubber - Pint Unit) and I wanted a pigment so I looked for what you listed in your description and I’m Afraid to buy the color and the psycho paint is too costly and I found a another pigment on the website called brick in my yard and they have a flesh colored pigment and I’m not sure if you would know but would this pigment be okay to mix with my silicon? Smooth On has a pigment set I use called Silc Pig. It’s a set of 9 colors. They are super pigmented so you barely need any for each project. I wouldn’t buy the psycho paint right now because you can just mix up a small batch of the ecoflex with pigment to use like paint. If you watch the making thing hand video you can see when I added the additional colors it was just small batches of ecoflex. I also used a heat gun between layers to make it set faster. Make sure whatever pigment you buy it says it’s for silicone. Also alginate is good for casting body parts but you will probably have to make a new mold each time because it has to stay damp to keep its shape. When I started I messed up a lot of molds but each time I learned more and more. I hope that helps.
