Sculpting, Molding, and Casting the Pick of Destiny

For my last build of 2023 I needed to build something quick and easy. After a few conversation with my brothers of Christmas, Tenacious D was stuck on the top of my mind as I pondered what to build. So after a quick search I settled on making the Pick of Destiny from the movie they did back in 2006. In this video I used: Sculpey polymer clay, silicone rubber mold making kit, smooth-cast 300, mold release, mica powders, hot glue, thermal plastics, spray paint, and some acrylic paints. You may also need the following tools: a Dremel with various bits, heat gun, blow torch, and Exacto knife or box cutter. Nicely done. I make picks out of recycled plastic, but they are no where as cool as the one you have made. It has been a while since I last saw the movie, but the pick is just the tip of the Devil's canine tooth, not the whole tooth. My memory could be wrong. I look forward to seeing what you make next year.

I went and watched it before I built it. I forgot how funny some of their old movies were. I bought my older brother a guitar punch for Christmas several years ago that was pretty cool.

This year, it would have to go to Isaac's helmet from Dead Space. There were lots of little parts to figure out and the electronics inside.

I've tried using picks to play my guitar, ukulele and banjolele, but i prefer using my thumb.. i never liked the clicking sound i got using the pick
