I want one but need to learn more about it. I'm really looking forward to Ron Paulk's update on your Smart Bench.

Excellent informative video. -Was that double-sided tape holding down the Corian? -What are you using as the spoil board? -Does the pro-version replace the collet or the router motor, or both? Keep the videos coming fast! Thank you.

Thanks Ron! Appreciate it, it was really fun trying to capture everything! Great questions: - Double sided tape: it's taken a lot of testing to find the right blend, and we'll be listing this on our site shortly. I can say it's a polyester backing with a strong acrylic adhesive, which gives great work-holding, with minimal deformation (essential for maintaining precision in the z axis), and easy to remove in post. - Spoil board: MDF 6mm - Pro-version: the pro-version replaces the entire spindle ('spindle' refers to the tool head unit as a whole which you can see extracted during tool change). The up-rated spindle features the professional ER16 collet system (as shown), and digital speed control. The rest of SmartBench's mechanics remain the same. I think there's three more videos right there ;-)

Hi Yeti, can you please touch on calibration and using the console, and show and verify accuracy after a few cuts over the length of both X and Y. Basically, having it home back to 0,0 after a few passes under load after spanning close to the full length of both X and Y. I'm unsure, if that's an effective way to show, prove and maintain accuracy. Definitely open to your suggestions. Thank you.

Hi Ron! We are working on some more videos as we speak - this will include a video based around calibration and setup as well as a video focused purely on the accuracy of SmartBench! Watch this space!

Q. Can it be used to flatten slabs of wood. Or replace a jointer and a surface planer? I wonder also why haven’t you gone with a standard 12 mm collet and a bigger motor
@YetiToolLtd2 жыл бұрын
Yes - it certainly can. We have several customers using SmartBench for this application. Please be aware that the machine has a UDL of 100kg over the 2.5m x 1.25m area. The spindle that comes with SmartBench is perfectly capable of handling a wide range of workloads. We also wanted to keep the price point of SmartBench affordable and increasing the spindle power would have increased cost and weight.

how to change tool in the working ??

You could easily have a Laser module for this bench.. just swap out the detachable router with a laser module when your want.

What is the decibels level of that machine? Also, how do you self level the legs? Is that possible? Finally, did I see somewhere where it works up against wall standing up?
@YetiToolLtd5 жыл бұрын
Hi there, below are the details about noise levels. Measurement values determined according to EN 60 745. The A-weighted noise level of the device is typically: Sound pressure level (LpA) 78 dB(A} Sound power level (l.wA) 89 dB(A} Measurement uncertainty K = 3 dB The noise level can exceed 85 dB(A} during operation. Wear ear protection! The legs do not self-level. If using SmartBench on an even surface, the legs would need to be places on packers to be level. Currently, SmartBench is only able to operate horizontally. Vertical operation was explored in earlier iterations of the machine, and is certainly something we will be looking into again in the future! I hope this helps!

Hey! Great idea guys on the cnc and the smart bench. But what if it could be better? Better how? You might be asking. Well iv got some ideas to make your smartbench more versatile more then just a cnc and at the same time stable so ppl could build up to the cnc. Let me know if your interested an we can get in touch

If I purchase the smart bench with the 230V router and buy the replacement 115V router and swap out depending what power I have available?
@YetiToolLtd5 жыл бұрын
Hi, sorry for the delayed reply! SmartBench itself ships to take either a 110v or 230v power supply so it wouldn't be possible to swap out the spindle I'm afraid.

Very interesting, but really better with the shitty "music" off, which make my ears bleed. Really wonderfull machine, a little bit costly?
@YetiToolLtd4 жыл бұрын
Hi James, thanks for your feedback! SmartBench certainly is an investment, but when compared to the cost of traditional CNC machines we hope it opens up the possibility for more people to get their hands on this technology.
