It looks like December 1, but the date may still shift. Also as a tip: Try googling this info instead of waiting for a response on a KZbin comment. You'll get your answer almost instantly that way ;)

It's also Blender with a bit of color touches in Krita. There's a tutorial about the lighting setup on the Blender Cloud: cloud.blender.org/training/speed-sculpting/5ca2363f001f6b3852dee5c8

I came all the way to ask you this question , may be it is a stupid question but I really want to know . I tried to position the 3D Curser inside the object(shift + RMB) but it only goes onto the surface of the object , whearse I want it inside the object , how do I do it without going to Edit mode or using shift+S) ?
@JulienKaspart
@JulienKaspart 3 жыл бұрын
There's 2 ways of doing this. The easiest is to instead of clicking directly on a surface, to click on empty space and dragging it into the object. Then look from a different angle and to it again. This way you can tweak the position better without snapping it onto an object. The alternative is to use the Cursor Tool in the Toolbar, enable volume snapping in the header and then click on the object and instead of snapping to the surface it will snap to the center of the object.

@@JulienKaspart Thank you a lot , I've used them correctly . may I ask you another qst and sorry for bothering you . when I dublicate the object then I click CTRL + M ,to mirrore it , are they mirrored using median point or the origin of the first object ?
@JulienKaspart
@JulienKaspart 3 жыл бұрын
@@zahreddinesoualem3213 Well median point means the average of all selected points. In object mode those "points" are the object origins so if you only have one object selected it will use that object origin. If you have it set to Active Element then it will use the active object you selected (bright orange).

I wish you made tutorial similar to Shane Olson's blocking method - makes it easy for absolute beginners who can't just sculpt a sphere like a lump of clay. BTW, I am a huge fan of your work :)
@JulienKaspart
@JulienKaspart 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I agree, it's a much easier method of getting good results. In my tutorials on the Blender Cloud (Stylized Character Workflow) and generally in productions I did block out my characters first as well ;)
@greenmouli

@@JulienKaspart ah ok. I just saw the preview of that tutorial series and realized you were just chiseling away and that's why I was asking about this method of blocking out, especially for guys like me who come from traditional box modeling world.

@@JulienKaspart There are serious issues with styling in Blender. Why QuadFlow is not working properly this is a very important feature and also why remesh doesn't have a neat knitting pattern. Should I stop using blender for life for this? because the development of these features is not on the horizon. Bubbles form while Remesh and Dyntopo work on it. These errors need to be fixed. Because of your love of Stylized character design, Realistic sculpting faded into the background.

Right now we are in in the last 4 weeks of wrapping up the movie production of Sprite Fright. After that there should be some time to work on Snow further. Until then I already made the files accessible on the Blender Cloud for (subscribers though). The free character will be available once the final rig is completed. cloud.blender.org/training/stylized-character-workflow/chapter/snow-blend-files/

@@idk-yb3yl Schools and universities use Blender or are using it more and more. The ones I know about where I'm from let you even choose a software yourself if you like. I never studied though. I had an apprenticeship in the field and other than that just personal and group projects to build my portfolio and get some experience.

What you need to develop for more intuitive sculpting are for example broader artistic skills: Shape language, perspective, appeal, posing & staging, composition. Eventually you'll dive deeper into anatomy, etc. Technical skills are just as important. Learn the features of your tools, how to use them & why. But you often need to learn these skills the hard way. Watching tutorials, taking courses and learning these lessons one at a time is the way to go BUT also take the time to apply them on your work. Sculpt, draw and experiment in your free time. Failing can also be demotivating but we only really learn how to do something right after doing it wrong first ;)

Another thing of course is reference! I based this sculpt for example on a drawing by Dean Heezen and I had some more references and inspirations on the side to help me out.

I am back again🙋 Can you tell the blender developers to add this features that are in this video? kzbin.info/www/bejne/gl7ZfaWXjqycqJo that will make the animation in blender easier and that will be the beat update, except for the graph editor features.
